If she's having chemo I presume it could be many months before we see her. Poor woman.

Here we go 🙄

Lemsipper · 02/05/2024 17:45

I bet you’re the office shit stirrer aren’t you?

Why are you trying to resurrect speculation again? It doesn’t matter when. She’s bloody told us what’s wrong and we will see her when we see her.

TakeTen · 02/05/2024 17:46

When she’s feeling up to it and gets the nod from her doctors I suppose.

Efh · 02/05/2024 17:47

Chemotherapy is often 3-6 months in duration. I wouldn't expect to see her before then. I can't remember when the announcement was. March? So maybe she might be around for September?

sarahc336 · 02/05/2024 17:48

When she's better for the lasting effects of chemo no doubt it's not a walk in the park you know

DinaofCloud9 · 02/05/2024 17:48

How is anyone supposed to tell you the answer?

When she feels better is all we can say.

We saw her after Easter, she released a video

Grazyna80 · 02/05/2024 17:56

Whenever the hell she wants.

Aren't you a charmer. Thread about a mother of 3 getting chemotherapy & that's what you think is appropriate to comment. Lovely

Tomorrow.

underscorer · 02/05/2024 18:02

@Redglitter why is it worse for a mother of three getting chemo to a mother of one or two? Or a woman who is childless - is her preventative cancer treatment less sad?

TheWayYouLaugh · 02/05/2024 18:03

I don’t think anyone here will know.

It could be next week or we might never see her again if she doesn’t recover.

Does it make much difference to your life?

SulkySeagull · 02/05/2024 18:04

Why does it matter? What difference will it make to your life?

AGlinnerOfHope · 02/05/2024 18:04

Dear God, underscorer. Is your name supposed to mean something? I’ve never read such spiteful tosh.

If I were Kate I’d give it a year, and only do surprise visits to my favourite charities. I wouldn’t see any reason to give the likes of Underscorer any ammunition.

Dearg · 02/05/2024 18:05

Well in my case it was a full year from diagnosis to going back to work part time. I was extremely weak, and very underweight after my treatment, and susceptible to every virus going.

Have no clue what chemo regime she is having, but they all take a toll.

mathanxiety · 02/05/2024 18:07

A thread in very poor taste.

mitogoshi · 02/05/2024 18:07

Being seen in public vs public duties are two separate things. I suspect we'll see her in the background at some point relatively soon but she's not going to be able to be going all over the place for a while, there's many kinds of chemo and some are harder to manage than others plus we have different capacities to start with, remember she had a serious operation to start with, there's plenty we don't know. I've had friends who worked public facing throughout chemo and others who were wiped out for a year or more unable to even go to the supermarket, it varies a lot

Her 3 kids will obviously be extremely upset and need her desperately, despite her being ill - which is the relevance of the comment presumably.
Nobody's is playing what's worse bingo.
Goodness me.

A thread in very poor taste.

Isn't it?

I despair of some posters. Why would anyone start a thread like this?

Efh · 02/05/2024 18:10

I think it's alright to have a chat about maybe we'll see her in 6 months, maybe 12 months, and to hope that her treatment goes well.

What is in very poor taste is some of the responses.

BillytheMountain · 02/05/2024 18:14

oh she’ll be popping out at 10 past 6 next Tuesday week.

You’re welcome!

I gather from your posts that you don't understand much about cancer (i.e. there are different types, affecting different areas of the body) or about chemotherapy.

Preventive / prophylactic chemotherapy isn't like a vaccine. It's full-on chemotherapy, usually following surgery to remove cancerous tissue but it can be done before surgery too, and because it is full-on chemotherapy, it has all the side effects chemotherapy is known for - loss of sense of taste, nausea, loss of hair, brittleness and loss of nails, exhaustion, loss of appetite, destruction of the immune system, numbness and tingling in toes amd hands, loss of sensation in toes and hands, rash accompanying the numbness, and more.
