Ah yes, loved that day 🎊 Happy Anniversary 🥂

It was the first royal wedding I've ever watched.

I was 10 and lived in Paris. Ididn't have school that day so I stayed home and watched. It truly was a fairytale wedding

Loved the trees in Westminster Abbey, and Kate saying, 'Wow!!!' when she stepped onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

A really lovely day.

Happy 13th anniversary!

I remember the day well. I bought snacks and created a little tea party for me and my mum to enjoy. My sister was acting like she was too cool to care about it and she said “I’m only watching to see the dress then I’m going” but lo and behold she watched the whole thing AND scoffed my food 🤣

So many memorable moments. Catherine’s dress reveal, Pippa Middleton’s bum, the York sister’s hats, Grace van Cutsem scowling whilst covering her ears, the cartwheeling clergyman. I remember there was so much speculation about Pippa and Harry at the time. It was a lovely day and the buzz around it all was incredible.

Your sister was so me. I only wanted to see the dress at first and ended up watching the whole thing

At first, I was disappointed with the dress. I thought it was too simple but it has really stood the test of time and will continue to be a classic in the following decades to come.

Overall, it was an beautiful day

I hope Catherine is doing better and they can have a little celebration, she was a beautiful bride and they both looked so happy.

JADS · 29/04/2024 11:08

Aww it was a lovely day. My eldest was 5 months old and we spent the day watching the TV and eating.

The trees in Westminster Abbey were just spectacular. I felt sorry for the York sisters, but didn't Bea auction her hat for charity? I thought that was brilliant of her.

JSMill · 29/04/2024 11:24

Omg 13 years! My main memory is starting drinking too early at my friend's house and having to go home for a lie down, therefore missing the only street party we'd ever had. The kids had a great time though!

BemusedAmerican · 29/04/2024 12:55

I watched it in the US. I thought Kate's dress was much lovelier than Diana's dress. I had a discussion with my sister about the York sisters needing a fashion intervention. I also though Pippa did a great job with the train.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/04/2024 14:31

13 years have gone by so fast! Beatrice was such a good sport about her hat thingy.

wordler · 29/04/2024 14:32

I remember thinking how close Kate and Pippa must be that she didn’t mind risking her sister getting all the attention for being in that stunning bridesmaid dress.

Although I bet neither of them expected her bottom to become famous and get its own social media following.

HouseHannah · 29/04/2024 14:55

I watched it with my late dad. (Obviously he's late now, he wasn't then :)). We sat on the sofa in my old house all day, with me getting up to make drinks/fetch food, and him keeping up a running commentary.

I know one of the men who helped put the trees in the Abbey.

upinaballoon · 29/04/2024 15:35

I remember Harry turning round to see Catherine coming up the aisle and saying something to William. It was a happy time.

The neckline of the dress was low but so narrow it wasn't tarty. Did she wear a silvery number in the evening?

Yes, "Wow", on the balcony.

Didn't he say something like 'wait until you see her'.

I can’t believe it’s 13 years. Time flies. I was at work we didn’t have any customers so we all crossed the road and watched the best bits in Currys!
Caught up properly later at home.

It really was @Rocket. He died not long after and I miss him loads.

He made a very touching speech, apparently. Kate was the sister he never had.
Happy days.

It was a lovely day. It was such a beautiful ceremony and everyone looked so happy 😊.

mikado1 · 29/04/2024 17:09

I was sitting at home watching while crying as I was having a miscarriage. Thought the fuss about Pippa and a barely there bum was OTT!!
