Wow! So much to 'upack' as trendy people say. That video is very revealing.
Now THAT, to me, has uncomfortable colonial overtones with them sitting entrhoned on the dais while the Fijian man kneels in front of Harry. But the thing is (and where I would part company with NoisySnail) is that I realise that the Fijiian hosts will have conceived and organised this show and don't blame H & M for that particular aspect. The Fijiians are mighty impressive, nevertheless.
But oh, boy, is Meghan uncomfortable. To be fair to her (and I don't like her!!) of course, she was new to the job here, but even so it's quite clear that she just cannot deal with not being the centre of attention. She doesn't have the Zen stillness and calm the Queen had when in these situations. She is putting on her big (fake) smile and is clearly very bored...and the seal clapping - oh dear.
I do get that she was nervous and new to the game. But if you take this in the context of the other disaster on that tour - her rude early departure from the market, much to the disappointment of the women traders who'd been really looking forward to meeting her - it's not a promising start.
Meghan was never going to manage a royal role - she just cannot cope with being in the background or letting other people (Harry or the tour hosts) take centre stage. I'm betting there's lots of film of her holding hands with H as well - so, so embarrassing and teenage. And she was a middle-aged woman, fgs.
