William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

I don’t think they get pursued either.

Of course they don't! Famous people - far more famous than a little known tv actress - walk around, shop and get the tube in London. Not harassed, not pursued.
We've all seen them. I used to see Nigel Havers, Diana Rigg, David Milliband and Toyah Willcox regularly on my tube line. Never once bothered. Funny that. Anyway, we all know that story is made up nonsense.

ArcaneWireless · 29/04/2024 11:39

Meghan was not a celebrity when she was chased by the non existent undead.

Thedom · 29/04/2024 11:43

You honestly think celebrities don't get persued by people in the street?
Seriously?!

Maybe a teen boy or girl band might, if they are out en masse doing promo work, but no I don't think they get pursued by people in the street.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/04/2024 11:44

The Wellington boots aren't the issue
The fake story about being hounded and pursued is

Precisely

I almost never comment on "appearances" anyway, and for all I care she could wear a gimp suit with a start spangled tutu - but as said the mention of wellies will be leapt upon because some appear not to cope with another lie being exposed

SuziQuinto · 29/04/2024 11:46

You're right, if you focus on the wellies, you're not focussing on the uncomfortable truth.

You literally just said that in your previous post

Yeah but you said ‘pursued’. The word is ‘pursued’.

You honestly think celebrities don't get persued by people in the street?
Seriously?!
Or was that just a chance you saw to get an "insignificant" dig in, saw it and jumped?
As it's laughable if you think they don't.

No they really don't. I lived in celebrity central in old my part of London, my kids were at nursery and toddler groups with the children of several household faces, and I even lived next door to one. They are just regular people going about their business, and most of us aren't lunatics who run down the street after them. Maybe you wouldn't be able to control yourself though.

Of course they don’t get pursued round the streets. Otherwise they wouldn’t be walking around said streets . I used to work in a large well known London store and no one pursued the many celebrities who frequented it and they were relatively easy to catch on a confined space like that! The celebrities even interacted with the staff like any other customer 🙄

ArcaneWireless · 29/04/2024 11:58

Quite. Concentrating on something inconsequential allows for some to ignore the big fat lie laden elephant in the room.

So I wonder if the lies were H’s or M’s or if it was a collaboration.

If, for example, M fabricated a situation that did not happen and related it to H who has a dislike of intrusion? That is beyond cruel to an already paranoid and struggling man.

If H made up a load of nonsense for his book? He did M a great big disservice.

If it was a joint enterprise? Then they don’t help themselves and it isn’t a leap as to why many think they are liars and fantasists.

You're right, if you focus on the wellies, you're not focussing on the uncomfortable truth.

It's like the previous poster who focused on the "waahhh" and not on the titles and the money being so important to the Sussexes, contrary to their assertion. It's a pathetic deflection.

I doubt many people back then would have given MM a second glance if they had passed her in the street. Hence the need for the attention drawing attire.

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 29/04/2024 12:00

I almost never comment on "appearances" anyway, and for all I care she could wear a gimp suit with a start spangled tutu

Now that'd cause attention 😁

SuziQuinto · 29/04/2024 12:01

She should have tried that - that would get her in the papers and put an end to people ignoring her!

Mylovelygreendress · 29/04/2024 12:02

One person who was chased down the street and had her car surrounded was a certain Catherine Middleton . Can’t remember hearing about her sobbing on the floor .

Runnerinthenight · 29/04/2024 12:03

All these feeble attempts at deflecting and defending negative behaviour have become so very tedious and are just evidence of a poor sense of critical reasoning!

Or complaining on chat shows, magazines, books, tv series.......

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 29/04/2024 12:07

Can’t remember hearing about her sobbing on the floor

That's just it, isn't it.
It's the narrative when it comes to reporting that I find interesting when it comes to people like Kate and Meghan.
Negative spin - positive spin.
It's fascinating really, also how people react to it or blindly believe everything they read.
Or if you write a book to retaliate at all the stuff written about you and put your side across, like Spare, you shouldn't have.. You should just put up and shut up and go along with all the nonsense.

SuziQuinto · 29/04/2024 12:10

Harry and Meghan didn't need to put up and shut up.
What they should not have done is constructed a web of lies.

Oh come off it, that’s documented! My god, you will argue over everything!

Exactly
Say whatever you've got to say, but at least tell the truth - and if you fail to, don't then whine when called out on it

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 29/04/2024 12:14

Oh come off it, that’s documented!

Yes, I know.
In Spare.

You don't know that they're not though.

What, that they're not telling the truth?
Read this thread. Also many others where their continuous lies have been exposed.

What nonsense?! A lot of what he claimed was lies. Which in turn undermines the rest. He did it for money and revenge because he didn’t get his own way. He’s one of the most privileged men in the world and he’s a spoilt, whining shite! Open your eyes!

ArcaneWireless · 29/04/2024 12:18

No one on this thread is saying that Spare should not have been written. That was his choice whether or not we thought it wise.

Fabricating stories in a book about his experiences is not helpful to anyone. Not him. Certainly not her.

Recollections varied so much from reality that the only way to describe it as lies.

Save your breath, Suzi; it's all been gone into endlessly before and some of the lies downright proved, but still the excuses come
