William Threatened Tatler and Camilla's niece help plant story

In the audio, the journo explains what happened when she referred to Kate as being thin.
William rang Tatler and The Daily Mail, arranged lunch with them and his staff to plant stories.
Camilla's niece who works at Tatler helped him twisted the true position to be favourable to William and Kate.

She says no British print media is allowed to say anything negative about Kate or William. The negative stories must be about Harry and Meghan.

But according to you that makes you a racist by default, you said it yourself in your post.

My dad (Indian, brown) met Prince Philip, had a lovely conversation with him and found him charming. I'll be issuing him with a posthumous condemnation first thing in the morning.

Btw, my SIL is Indian and she
impressed with Philips (or Harry’s) past racist comments, so your dad doesn’t get to speak for all Indian people.

My nana is 97, she’s not racist. There’s no excuse, especially for a man in his position who had access to education throughout his life and could have kept his views ‘up to date’. You excusing him speaks volumes. He was a racist bastard. His family saw no reason to come out and say that their views didn’t slight with his which to me says a lot about their views. It’s no longer good enough to sit and think I didn’t say it, you need to speak up.

As I said, it’s convenient that you now ask for current members now he’s dead. And hopefully the younger royals are at least better at hiding their racism. They know that the public won’t accept it now.

I don't agree.

My parents were not racist, you can believe that or not as you wish.

However, my mother, who would have been in her 80s now, was literally terrified of Pakistani salesmen wearing turbans, in her younger days. She would actually run into the house and hide. She lived in rural Ireland, and this was just out of her comfort zone, not something she was familiar with. She was friends with Indian and Pakistani pupils at school, but they didn't wear turbans. She was very young at the time and a new mum at 19.

That was in the 1960s and the world was an incredibly different place.

Why just current? Because it suits.

I was on a thread here years ago about Philips racists comments where excuses were made for him, so even when there was a current working royal with a track record of being racist, the comments were passed over as nothing or excused because of his generation. Did the RF ever apologise for his comments because it’s not good enough to think ‘it wasn’t me’ imo.

Now he’s dead, posters are happy to say ‘name a current working royal who is racist’. Back then, people did just that and were ignored.

I think it’s unlikely that in a family where racism was alive and well in Philip and Harry until a few years ago, that no other family members hold those views. They’re likely to just be more controlled about where they express those opinions because it’s harder to excuse people in the generations after Philip being racist.

Just current? Because that is where we are.

So would you say this to posters on here when they start a thread saying their Granny or Grandpa had said something racist? by your reckoning they must racists as well? Or does this rule just apply to the Royal Family? and if racist views are passed down the line then surely Harry has passed on his racist views to his children?

Why would you not?
If my parents or indeed MIL was to post on here it could quite easily be racist shit.
Just because I'm related to them doesn't mean I agree with them.

I think it’s unlikely that there’s not racism in a family where racism was alive and well until a few years ago when they appear to not be willing to challenge it publicly. In their position, I’d want to make it very clear that I wasn’t racist, like I did in my own family. I’m not in the public eye so don’t get to announce it publicly.

WaitUpForMe · 28/04/2024 02:13

And there is definitely racist people in my family who were influenced by older generations. Some of them are actively racist, others just accept it. That’s not ok,

And you don't get to speak for any of them. I don't particularly like having racism explained to me as someone who is a person of colour who has experienced it. And my father 10 fold, as a post war immigrant from a country who witnessed Partition and the legacy of colonialism first hand. He had an extremely level headed and nuanced view on prejudice, that only someone who has experienced it on the many levels he did could have. Nothing you are seeking to whites plain to me counts for shit compared to the actual experience of that generation.

So you want an announcement from the palace condemning Prince Philips past remarks? Would that be enough or would you like him cancelled and removed from history?

And that proves he wasn’t a racist cunt?

I met Donald Trump many years ago. He was charming and kind to me and my children. Does that mean he’s not a misogynistic arsehole?

Exactly, he'd probably be perfectly lovely to me as a forty something white straight woman.
Doesn't mean he's automatically the same with t those who aren't though

I would have liked them to have spoken up at the time. Every time. I would have liked him to change his racist ways, to listen and learn.

He’s dead now and good riddance to the racist fool.

You are implying I said my father spoke for all Indian people. I did not. Those are your words. It was a joke about my late father needing a telling off for liking Philip. However, my father sure as shit spoke with the experience of more Indian people then you ever will (which is precisely zero) or I will, for that matter, so stop trying to explain racism to me.

I still think they could address Philips racism, just like Harry should address his past racism. It’s not good enough to ignore it. But the fact they have ignored it, or in Harry’s case minimised some of it by calling it bias, says a lot.

What do you think of the Royal Family ignoring Philips multiple racist incidents?

What do you think of Harry not properly addressing his and minimising it by referring to it as bias?

Personally I think it’s disgusting. Britain is multicultural. The late Queen was, and now Charles is, head of the commonwealth. It’s unacceptable.
