Harry looks impressed. Do you really think Meghan is intentionally making an idiot out of herself?

Goodbye dear Harry
AliceOlive · 18/04/2024 15:58

Also, any insight into why they wanted to take Netflix cameras and photogs all over the place during the Jubilee but not inside their own home?

AliceOlive · 18/04/2024 16:00

If Sarah Ferguson really taught her to curtsey like that and she did it in front of the queen, while sitting on a sofa, I can see why they had to move.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 18/04/2024 16:01

You watched it but then claim you have no idea who Bouzy is…….

burnttoad · 18/04/2024 16:02

Zero concerns one way or another. Amused at how many people are so over invested.

I did watch it, yes.
When it first came out which was a couple of years ago now I think.
Did they mention the name Bouzy on it? If they did it's not a name I remembered.
They did say how the internet creates pile ons and attacks from all sides, if it was related to that?

CurlewKate · 18/04/2024 16:14

@AliceOlive "Harry looks impressed. Do you really think Meghan is intentionally making an idiot out of herself?"

Is that what people are talking about? So the Queen was present there?

BigWillyLittleTodger · 18/04/2024 16:15

He was on the show and his part on it was all over the news and continues to be, I’m amazed you missed it.

That looks like it's taken from the Netflix documentary.
No the Queen wasn't there, they (M and H) were in a sitting room and Meghan was laughing at herself how she was courtesying and kind of like "OMG I'm going to make a right prat of myself" and did a pretend courtesy to demonstrate

Why is this good news for the average person? It's not like he's constantly knocking on my front door asking to borrow a pint of milk...where he lives has zero impact on me

Has zero impact for me were he lives too but it’s makes a lot of impact on the daily mail readers where this man decides to live. They take it very personal.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 18/04/2024 16:24

That’s your favourable interpretation, a lot of people found that very offensive, comparing meeting the Queen, the Head of State to some tacky US restaurant chain, even Harry looked embarrassed, he didn’t laugh and join in with the joke and say Meghan you’re such a card! He went a bit pink and looked uncomfortable.

And of course we are supposed to believe that this terribly intelligent woman, who had curtsied as part of her acting role on TV, didn't know how to curtsey...

And incidentally, if it's true that some brattish behaviour made a security guard cry then may I respectfully suggest they are in the wrong job!

CurlewKate · Today 14:24
For the avoidance of doubt, bullying of anyone is reprehensible and unacceptable.

OK...so which one is it? Your posts are completely contradictory.

But my take (having seen the video of the incident and read reports from eye-witnesses) is that yes - security guards have to be tough, but that even these hardened professionals were driven beyond endurance by Meghan's demands. That's not a feather in her cap.

CurlewKate · 18/04/2024 16:31

OK. The curtsy story. It seems that she was talking about some ways she got things wrong and demonstrated the sort of curtsy she did at a family event when what was required was a bob. I didn't watch but I've just talked to someone who did who said that's how it went. It does seem an odd thing to beat her up about.

CurlewKate · 18/04/2024 16:32

@CoffeeCantata "but that even these hardened professionals were driven beyond endurance by Meghan's demands."

What did she demand?

CoffeeCantata · 18/04/2024 16:32

CurlewKate

To choose one example- the "exaggerated, sneering curtsey". Now, I haven't seen it, but I did read that it was her showing the difference between how she, as an American, perceived a court curtsey and what was actually expected of her. So. Who knows?

Then might I suggest that you take the trouble to see this clip? It's one of the most notorious and talked-about bits of the Netflix series, and a massive misjudgement by Meghan. Even Harry looks utterly mortified. His face tells its own story.

If you really haven't seen it, you must be in a very small minority!

You haven't seen it, have you? Maybe wait until you have seen a clip to comment on the clip.

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 18/04/2024 16:34

What did she demand?

Yes, I was wondering that too.
People keep alluding to "bratty behaviour" (such as?) and "demands" but never actually say what she's supposed to have done.

StormzyinaTCup · 18/04/2024 16:35

”OMG I'm going to make a right prat of myself" and did a pretend courtesy to demonstrate …and made a right prat of herself

Going by Harry’s expression he saw exactly what a lot of us saw and it wasn’t his wife having a laugh at herself.

No not bratty behaviour, bullying behaviour.

I just talked to someone else and they found it appalling. 🤣

"The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. She is bullying Y [name removed] and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior towards Y [name removed]."*

Meghan Markle bullying allegations locked in 'vault at Buckingham Palace'

Meghans would be interesting, both Diana and Sarah kept titles after divorce, so I’m not sure Harry renouncing his would automatically remove hers. I’d assume she’d want to, as to avoid the awkwardness.

No, they were granted new, non-Royal titles, which would only stand until they remarried. Sarah, Duchess of York, and Diana, Princess of Wales.

It's the same as a dowager duchess - she goes from being The Duchess of Wherever, to Firstname, Duchess of Wherever.
