He's been living in an exclusive gated community in the US and dividing his time between the wealthy US polo communities and the wealthy Hollywood community. In other words, he has been living a more controlled and sheltered existence in the US than in the UK.

The only time anyone outside these exclusive communities hears him speak is on a terrible zoom call or one of his horrible, prewritten public speeches. Except for his very revealing comments in Spare ( which I actually read).

Perhaps you are new to this topic. These conversations have been done to death over years now. I don’t know if someone will come along with the patience to have them anew. You can take that however you like, but it’s not lack of a salient point.

He was in his twenties so an adult who should have known better . You say it was the norm in his circle . Not sure how you know that but we are talking about the 21st century when it very much is not the norm to refer to people in such a way .

I seem to recall the very damning accusations of racism against the RF in general and Charles and Kate specifically. Harry was very content for those accusations to be broadcast and to stand.
The kindest thing I can say is that he has very little self awareness, nor consideration for others' reputation.

Personally the last time I found him racist was when he decided that what was said on Oprah was not racism but with him being the fount of all knowledge that is was actually “unconscious bias”. That Oprah, a black woman recoiled in horror at what was said, the Queen investigated and again it was the fault of the “nasty press” not Meghan that these rumours of racism got out. Even now after Scobie named the racist he remains quiet listening to shaggy “ it wasn’t me”. I don’t blame Meghan as it was “Harry told me”. He was yet again in the room and didn’t say anything, if he had it would have been in spare. His sister in law is abused daily as a racist purely from his actions.

Good points, @Vespanest . He's behaved very badly throughout. Selfish, damaging and very unkind.

And to add I’m older than Harry and ex military the p word was not a term of endearment, we didn’t use it as a jock, scouse, paddy etc. Its like believing the 80s never happened and that still then doesn’t account for the other Asian slur he used.

We may not have had used the word “othering” in my childhood but certainly we all knew what it meant. Kind people didn’t do it; bullies did.

I had to look up the incident to remember when it happened. 2003? Harry was an officer! He was the one filming. Not just one slur, but several.

You have to wonder if anyone excusing this as if people weren’t aware that racism is wrong was even out of short pants at at that point. It’s not the stone ages.

You have to hand it to Harry, displays actual racism numerous times and has somehow become the anti racism ambassador for some.

Yes - it's bizarre. Harry and Meghan have behaved badly in the past and continue to do so but some people have decided they are beyond criticism. Their adoring fans just ignore all the evidence - even when it's on film or actual words from their own mouths. I find it very depressing.

Often the same people who leap on criticism of Meghan's behaviour with cries of 'RACISM!!!!'
