Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there are so many awkward moments in this!

@NashvilleQueen I don't recall any of my postings being deleted, so am happy to carry on calling out poor behaviours
I don't agree with personal attacks on someone's looks, albeit I've said before about plastic surgery, but that's very different to toxicity
Freedom of speech about behaviours is, and would be allowed ... otherwise people are wrongly silenced!

Good that it's now been moved back into its toxic niche but actually I wonder whether MNHQ should ask themselves whether those threads are really in the spirit of this platform.

The top 5 threads on the RF at this moment in time are all about Meghan. All except one are for the express purpose of what many posters here suggest is criticism. A quick glance over these threads would suggest differently. I suppose an advantage to keeping this type of criticism to one section is that it corals the people who need to find anything and everything to criticise about that woman in one area and it rarely spills over onto the main site.

whispers MN won’t delete these threads even though they are obviously targeted and against the spirit because they drive engagement

Yes. It's so wrong.

Yes I believe so.

And a month ago the top 5 threads were about Kate. Hysterical conspiracy theories and folk fummin about cuffs and fingers on a family snap.

H&M prancing about at a polo match for rich privileged people in the guise of shining their light on Sentable, an organisation that wants to address wealth inequity, is going to attract scrutiny.

Your ignorance of how charities use celebrities for PR is astounding.

Kate puts out a fake picture? - Hysterical conspiracy theory

Megan promotes a charity addressing wealth inequality? - prancing about in guise

Your hypocrisy is laughable.

whatsitcalledwhen · 15/04/2024 09:18

Why are people saying Meghan put herself in the middle when she literally encouraged the other woman to be in the middle of the picture, along with someone else who encouraged her to do the same?

When you see the final photo cant you see that your claim she wanted to be in the middle / at the centre is completely wrong?

And when they inevitably crop that photo to show the Chair of Sentebale with Prince Harry in the trophy presentation, who will be in the middle?

Of course charities use celebs to raise their profile.

If were a celeb like Harry, shining a light on a charity, I would not use an elitist rich person's sport when the charity wants to address wealth inequity. Why not put his face to a more authentic grass roots sport? Less glam and more equity.

EmpressOfTheThread · 15/04/2024 09:24

Why does she need to be in the picture? She's the wife of a player. The woman who is the representative of Sentebale should have presented the cup and been pictured with the players. I don't know why Meghan has a role in this. Being a decorative wife seems so dated now.

Why would they crop out a DUCHESS? They’re chuffed she was there. See Sentebale’s write up :

Just under 300 guests attended the event, including Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, and special guests of sponsors and Sentebale.

And if they want a solo pic with Harry they’ll get that as well. Do you really think you saw every single picture that was taken that day?

Because she’s the Co-founder’s wife?

Because she got the charity a shit ton of publicity?

Are you really this naive?

LadyTottingham · 15/04/2024 09:31

🤣Unclench!!

Oh I'm not naive.
She's got to put her image out there. She wants the clicks. It's a great opportunity to develop her influencer role - shoes, dresses, glamour.
Bonus - it's Harry's charity.

skullbabe · 15/04/2024 09:32

Why does she need to be in the picture?

It’s what they do at polo podium charity ceremonies - have a look.

hottchocolatte · 15/04/2024 09:33

I agree op it does look awkward!

Where did I say they should crop her out? I said that she becomes the centre of the picture when it is cropped down to capturing Harry and Dr Chandauka in the trophy ceremony.

Exactly.

People seem to forget that everything can be manipulated to appear different/negative.

I'm unclenched but my jaw is on the floor at the sheer ignorance displayed on this thread.

Some people seem to forget why charities LOVE royal patrons and sponsors and the publicity they bring.

That's it. Royalty and the cachet. That's their thing, their selling point.

You are frothing for nothing, here is a picture of Harry and Dr Chandauka without Meghan to calm you.

No froth. No outrage. See, no caps from me. They look absolutely ecstatic in that photo. That's the one I'd be using on my website for sure. 😂

Sounds like they need Meghan to make them ecstatic! All hail the Duchess 😂

But seriously, there will be lots of images, don't worry about it.

I'm not outraged, and I'm not even a royalist but even I, pleb that I am, can see that the charity is chuffed to have a friggin' DUCHESS and a PRINCE support them 😂

EmpressOfTheThread · 15/04/2024 10:53

Why aren't they all curtseying and bowing to The Duchess and The Duke?!
For shame.

AssignedUnimportantAtBirth · 15/04/2024 11:13

The piss-artist formerly known as Prince co-founded Sentebale, @pootlin . He was there to work, not to be a celebrity or to hijack the event for his Netflix pay-cheque and his wife's needs. IMO he should have behaved with more class and more graciously towards Dr Chandauka, Chair of Sentebale and a seeming tireless worker for the organisation. But I don't think this is something we are going to agree on, so I am going to leave it there.
