@EmpressOfTheThread Ferro Roche displays are found at many cash wraps at convenience and grocery stores, often with a season display. My local supermarket puts them in front of the coffee. I personally love them.

Arcane, I wonder if the Abroads you’ve lived in are the same as mine. I’ve lived in 12 Abroads, one of them the USofA! (three different states therein, no less).

I too had never heard the term Salty Island until this very thread. 🤔

The image of all the Abroaders pointing and calling "Salty Island" made me smile too.
Maybe I don't get how really bad "salty" is; just sounded playground-ish to me. I'd have thought the whole of Abroad could have come up with something better.
Funny would have been nice too.

But my favourite bit was the quote followed by "Miaow", then "Er...No - not you".
By the time the right quote was found, followed by an identical "Miaow", it had lost all impact.
Preview is one's friend, it seems.

I had to look up the newfangled slang that they use in that there Abroad too.
It said it referred to someone who is expressing themselves in a resentful or irritated manner.
I suppose a lot of people are resentful about and/or irritated by quite a bit of H&M's behaviour and not just in the UK.

I’ve googled Salty Island and if the whole of abroad call us that, you’d think it would be on the first page.

I’m wondering if it is just a saying by a Hole of A Broad.

Salty Island - have they misheard TERF Island -that's an insult thrown at UK from USA - and that does come up with googling.

Never heard Salt island and when heard USA people use salty for anger seems to be done in a humorous disarming way - semi affectionate way - rather than take it serious disparaging way - but perhaps that's just what I've seen so far.

‘Salteyja’ as we always refer to the UK back in the land of volcano dust. Or actually not, given that the UK comprises many islands made of a combination of drift geologies and post-glacial inclusions with varied peoples. That is my abroad humour there making you ALL laugh.

Quite, @LaMarschallin . I am off to plan some sort of colonial usurpation of a developing nation. It's what we do! No other nation in history has ever done this.

I am focussing on choosing which jam to have at afternoon tea. It takes me hours to decide. If only I could be an Abroad person 😪

I dislike the repeated attempts by various posters to characterise threads that have not been deleted, and which are by and large full of reasons comments based on what H&M have themselves chosen to out in to the public domain, as toxic or hateful. They simply do not fit that stereotype, and stating it over and over does not make it true
