Sadly many people aren't that bright!

Black and white thinking. It’s for the intellectually challenged.

KnickerlessParsons · 13/04/2024 23:05

Apparently Harry's horse went lame with only ten minutes to go of the match and another horse could not be found as a replacement.

Meghan gallantly stepped in and gave Harry a piggyback instead, trotting and cantering her pony tail swishing in the wind and without her the match would have been lost.

It's only fair she be given centre stage.

There really is no limit as to what she can do.

Now that made me laugh! 😀

Racist

(I’m joking BTW)

I can see the difference between hate and dislike or disapproval, yes.

So what's your point about "intellectually challenged"?

Thatsthewayitisnt · 13/04/2024 23:45

My point is that some people seem unable to understand that criticism of Meghan and or Harry isn’t motivated by hate or racism in most cases. It’s possible to be critical of someone’s behaviour without being a hater or a racist.

I wasn't sure what you were getting at. I agree with you on this.

Prince Harry injuring the pregnant mare Drizzle who became unwell during the match and had a heart attack and died at only ten years old.

I see the hate accusation has popped up again .
Do some people not understand that disliking or disapproving of someone’s behaviour doesn’t equate to hate ?
< sigh>

Nor does criticism equal hate.

I loved Meghan’s outfit & I thought she looked great. I would kill to be able to walk in those heels on grass. Actually I’d kill just to be able to walk in those heels.

What?!!!

Vespanest · 14/04/2024 07:27

I don’t think Drizzle was pregnant and it wasn’t that horse. Drizzle was a family horse that Harry noticed was struggling and later had a heart attack. I’m not keen on Polo but horses dying in all horse event is something that happens.

No, I don't think that's the case.

I think that kind of black-and-white-thinking is indeed inadequate, but is more to be found in those who have spent along time listening to the voices that promote that sort of divisive thinking, and simply lose sight of how harmful it it - it simply fosters division and normalises the idea of "hate" (something that really is rhetorical effect, as it's not a synonym for criticism).

And conspiracy theories can also attract very intelligent people

The woman Meghan told to move out of the way and not stand next to Harry was the Chair of Sentabale. She is the person who ought to have presented the trophy to the winning team. There was no basis for M giving the cup to H, other than M's ego and need to be (literally) centre stage.

OneHeartySnail · 14/04/2024 08:16

It's strange that Harry's team always seems to win at these events?

😮

How incredibly rude.

Surprised Henry didn't have something to say about that but (being charitable) maybe he didn't want even more of a scene made.

That was as always cringeworthy to see. Why is she so pretentious? Just smile for the camera and still directing folk about fgs.

JSMill · 14/04/2024 11:36

I couldn't believe how openly rude M was to that woman. Imagine how she behaves in private if she's willing to be so rude when the cameras are on her.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 14/04/2024 11:53

I used to think Sentebale was one of the best things Harry had done. Now he just seems to use it for self promotion. Jetting off round the world to play an expensive, elitist sport doesn't sit well alongside the needs of the people Sentebale is working with.

Mylovelygreendress · 14/04/2024 11:55

And no mention of African Parks…

DrJoanAllenby · 14/04/2024 12:29

Meghan has what my late grandmother used to call 'Jumble sale elbows!'

It's not an insult before anyone gets offended it's to describe someone who will elbow everyone out of the way at a jumble sale so they can get get first dibs and my grandmother would use it when describing someone who is 'pushy'!
