The polo bit is before the break from maybe 20 minutes in, if you watch it on catch-up. There are clips on You Tube but at least one has been edited down, so catch-up would be better.
It's very interesting. Michael Palin meets Folarin Kuku, a 'Nigerian Nigerian' (and Harrow-educated, has UK citizenship, ex-British army officer, all rounder good guy), who was playing a Charity Shield polo match in northern Nigeria. The teams comprised Nigerian and international players, but the 'Fifth Chukka' was about the local grass roots.
Kuku is articulate and personable, and talks about his 'pilot' to have Nigerian polo including both elite players and locals - to have a grass roots in the sport in the whole country, starting with the equine-heavy north of the country. Not sure I'm convinced, for various reasons, but ...
Harry's been beaten to it. If I were remotely interested in polo - and Palin was astute enough to keep the segment to about five minutes max - then I would I want to see and hear more of Kuku, not the scripted prince.
