I don't know why she uses "Meghan, (The) Duchess of Sussex" as it smacks of divorce - see also Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York. Her name is The Duchess of Sussex, with the HRH bit not available for use. I mean, has Harry never told her the correct form?
To be fair, I also don't like reference to "Catherine, Princess of Wales" for the same reason - she should be HRH The Princess of Wales.

I think she uses it because she wants everyone to know she's a Duchess. That's very important. But the correct styling would not include the 'Meghan' and she also needs everyone to know that the Duchess is in fact Meghan. Hence the clumsy 'title'.

To the person claiming that is her 'legal name', is that how official documents in America refer to her? Does the Inland Revenue send mail to 'Meghan the Duchess of Sussex'? And if she were to get her American passport renewed, would her name be 'Her Royal Highness Meghan the Duchess of Sussex'? What with that being her 'legal name'?
