This is what I find so deeply offensive. Even she, in all her wildest fantasies cannot have genuinely thought she’d marry an actual prince but even that isn’t enough. She’s trash and her pretentiousness, hypocrisy and avarice are repulsive.

I assume what she means is that while she’s going to go to red carpet events, she will also feel the mandatory pull to visit refugee camps and work to alleviate suffering. It hasn’t quite panned out that way in practice, of course!

Another thing I side-eyed in the blog post was when she described how she was invited to attend the BAFTAs: “I received an email from my managers with a request for me to attend the BAFTAs. I had never been and had always romanticized the idea of it – and per the email, a high end jewelry company was going to fly me in, get me dolled up in the fanciest of gowns, and I would travel straight from Kigali to Heathrow, to the makeup chair, and immediately onto the red carpet”

Meghan travelled to Rwanda in January 2016. This was before she met Harry. The 2016 Film BAFTAs were held on 14 February at Royal Opera House. Leonardo di Caprio, Kate Winslet, Alicia Vikander, Cate Blanchett, Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore attended. Why would on earth would a US TV actress, largely unknown in the UK and working on a cable tv show, be invited, gowned and be-jewelled asa freebie for the British Film BAFTAs?

It doesn’t sound very likely at all. One advantage I guess of posting in October about what you did in January is that it’s too long ago for anyone to check. Something Meghan was doing in October 2016, however: secretly dating Prince Harry. This wouldn't be public knowledge for a couple of weeks yet.

And, how handy - as soon as it comes out that Meghan and Harry are dating, journalists researching this actress they may never have heard of would look at her blog and see her perfectly burnished humanitarian credentials, newly published on the TIg… (I think Tom Bower pointed out that her wikipedia page was re-written just before the news broke, to emphasise her humanitarian work rather than her acting career).

@Serenster didn't she get very angry at the 2017 Vanity Fair piece on her headlined "Wild About Harry," because the author had failed to focus on her humanitarian work (I gather they could find no real evidence of it, including no evidence to back up the washing up liquid ad claim).

I just can't fathom her sheer sense of entitlement and her arrogance! How she thought she was going to sweep in and be Top Dog, and modernise the Royal Family? Wouldn't it have been more normal to listen and learn, to take advice and not to take it personally that there were other more senior Royals than she was?

What a humungous jump in status from jobbing actress to senior Royal! Yet that still wasn't enough?

Would love to have been a fly on the wall when Meghan first met and had a conversation with Princess Anne.

To be fair to Meghan I think he is just as bad. The comment about her being a better royal than the rest of his family just shows how deeply he has misunderstood the roll of the modern monarchy. He should know the rules about personal gain when you work for the institution. He had seen first hand the fall out from his Uncle Andrew’s various slip ups. But he still does not get that most of the population want working royals who work for the people, not for their own profit.

Also, @Ratsoffasinkingsauage , he said that before she had any experience as a working royal. It was in his head because he believed her presentation. It's not just dressing up in bespoke designer gear and smiling - there's a lot of work involved. Neither of them were up to it, didn't want to admit their weaknesses so left.

I think I read in Revenge that she was angry with her 1st husband, because he got invited to the Oscars one year due to his work as a Producer. But because he was very much not A list, only he was invited - he wasn't given a 'plus one', so she couldn't go. Apparently they're very strict about that.

Prompted by this thread I downloaded Revenge, it's very interesting. And the fact that she hasn't taken any legal action speaks volumes, it's very well researched.
