She's stunning in that dress

She's stunning in that dress

It's perfect from head to toe, isn't it?

I wish I could look as 'staid' as that!

Salemforcuddles · 13/04/2024 17:21

If that is middle aged then I will take it

"Middle Aged" is such a ridiculous term of abuse.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 13/04/2024 17:24

Can I look as middle aged as Kate pretty please?

Salemforcuddles · 13/04/2024 17:24

It is

"Middle Aged" is such a ridiculous term of abuse.

It's almost as bad as calling women 'menopausal' as a way to insult them.

I think it's the daytime equivalent to the 'Bond girl' dress as a nighttime look!

One of those occasions where every little detail is just right.

Staid indeed.

I know. Just ageist and incredibly silly, because everyone gets there eventually! Same with the menopause. Misogynist nonsense.

PinkTonic · 13/04/2024 17:35

That dress is stunning on her. Her clothes always fit impeccably.

IsoldeWagner · 13/04/2024 17:35

That gold dress she wore to the Bond premiere 😍

Salemforcuddles · 13/04/2024 17:39

Loved that gold dress!

On one of his interviews - I can't remember which one - Harry suggested the family were "jealous" because they couldn't stand a newcomer being better at the job than they were

Harry is a) not very bright and b) utterly besotted with Meghan and c) often chanelling Meghan's own words/thoughts. It's an accepted article of faith with the SS that Kate, and the RF in general, are jealous of Meghan. She wishes!!!

They are probably appalled by her - but why on earth would any of them be jealous? I think the kneejerk 'you sound jealous' whenever someone expresses dislike is my least favourite MN jibe, and for some M & H fans they really seem to believe that W & C (future king and queen) are jealous of Meghan - a cable actress who got very, very lucky! And she was rubbish at the role.

In their shoes I certainly wouldn't be jealous, but yes, I'd be angry about her behaviour and her absolute rhinoceros-skinned cheek in pushing herself forward (eg leading the veteran's march at Invictus) as some kind of American royal. That would wind me up!

BigWillyLittleTodger · 13/04/2024 17:41

We all know who the jealous ones are and it certainly isn’t William and Catherine.

MrsLeonFarrell · 13/04/2024 17:44

I see no evidence that anyone is jealous of anyone else. I have never understood why William and Catherine are seen as middle aged when Meghan, who is roughly the same age, is seen as young. They are either all middle aged or none of them are.

DuchessOfPort · 13/04/2024 17:45

As a really bog standard punter who think the key royals “royal” well; Charles tastes cheese at a farmers’ do in Scotland while Camilla, wearing tartan, makes him laugh - or Princess Anne admires a lighthouse / bin lorry / abbatoir - or the Waleses take their children to a food bank…

I don’t want my royals (paid for by me - though I think they’re good value) to be constantly in gold sequins at the BAFTAs or premieres. I like them BEST at the Braemar Games, or opening hospital wings in shitsville or staring up a cow’s behind in the name of dairy farmers. The glam stuff should be occasional. Don’t get me wrong: I want huge tiaras and jewels and diamonds and I don’t want the same tiara at every State banquet - I want to be blinded by parures - BUT - in between that, I want the royals shaking hands with and chatting to, every level of working person who has contributed to the tiny levels of every industry that makes our day to life easier. Supermarket workers, milkmaids (they still do have them), people in mills, coal delivery people, tweed weavers, etc etc.

Not skipping memorials for Disney.

IsoldeWagner · 13/04/2024 17:45

@CoffeeCantata - leading the veterans march at Invictus, wearing a pair of floppy shorts and sliders was just ridiculous.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 13/04/2024 17:46

I can’t see W&K being jealous. Not one bit.

Reducing women to hot hip things and middle aged and staid has done this.

A lovely looking woman is now not satisfied with the face and teeth she once had.

Cosmetic interference is up to the woman. It is meant to enhance.

This is not that.

I agree.

That's why it's extra special on the rare occasions when Kate goes full on 'film star', like at the Bond premiere. It's precisely because we don't often see her like this that the look is so special. If she were an actress or model, sure, we'd admire the look, but it would be expected from such a person. However, when we're more likely to see Kate chatting to nurses at a hospital, or looking elegant but conservative at a church service, then we appreciate the high glamour all the more.

Meghan never understood this, and she still does not.

I saw the 2nd pic on the DM website and thought how they must have hunted for it - the whole article is flagging up how controlling they are of images and content. So they have published some shocking in motion pics. Much like they often publish the pics of MM in the brown H&M top with huge sweat patches, but never mention it in a random article on “royals who wear socks” or whatever.

I think it was pretty clear in Spare that Harry was very jealous of William.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 13/04/2024 18:03

Harry has allowed his jealousy of William to ruin his relationship with his family.

He should have appreciated just how very blessed he was.

I don’t believe they are and would suggest this:

Narcissistic Projection

What Is Narcissistic Projection & How to Respond

Narcissistic projection is a psychological defense mechanism that allows a narcissistic person to protect their grandiose self by projecting their shortcomings onto others.

Edited

I do think though since Meghan has lost weight recently her face has also become a lot thinner hence the more pronounced teeth, a lot of her pictures look like that now (that haven’t been touched up), it’s not a criticism just an observation, losing weight quickly in middle age can do this to all of us I think.
