What exactly is "the Sussex Squad"?

I don't know whether this is too controversial a topic for such a thread to be allowed to stand. But I post in good faith on a topic I believe has a lot of social and political relevance.

Does the "Sussex Squad" actually exist? If so, how do you join? If not, do people ever identify as belonging to it?

If it exists, was it hijacked by SarahData and Bouzy or was it their creation? And, if so, to what extent?

I'm adding onto this, I will not respond to any abuse or nastiness on this thread from any of you who choose to be that way with me.

But I'm sure there won't be any - this thread has been civilised and nuanced with no nastiness. People are expressing thoughtful and well-informed opinions about the question, and frankly the nastiness tends to come from quite another direction in my experience, with posters being accused of jealousy and envy on no grounds whatsoever.

However, what I will say apart from Oprah, which the world watched is, have you actually watched all the Netflix series and read the whole of H book SPARE?

Keffie, I have read excerpts of Spare (I'm just not putting any money into H's pocket on principle, so I will not buy it). and they are revelatory of H's character and very unedifying. Embarrassing and depressing, I thought.

I haven't watched all the Netflix, but I'm baffled why anyone would take it seriously - it's about as realistic as 'The Crown' - a completely curated, manipulated and manipulative piece of drama. Apart from all the actressy gushing stuff from Meghan, apparently they didn't even film it in their own home! They rented somewhere to do it. On no level at all is it a representation of anything that's true or real about H & M. It's propaganda. I find what I've seen stomach-churning - especially the bit where Meghan does her mock curtsey and then smirks, and Harry doesn't quite know where to look.

I'm sorry, I just don't think I COULD either read the whole of one or watch the whole of the other - I'd be chewing the carpet pretty soon. How can anyone not see through the narcissistic behaviour, cruel anecdotes, utter lack of interest or respect for history or British culture and cringeworthy fakeness?

Great news that the recent poll states Catherine is the most popular royal with William close behind, she must feel really buoyed to hear this after the onslaught by the so called Sussex Squad, seems like their tactics to bring them down in fact, do quite the opposite.

And this is a very serious point that @Ratsoffasinkingsauage and others have made. H&M are looking pretty precarious here, in terms of how they now will be assessed by security services as a security risk in and of themselves. People are asking, who are the real puppeteers, and who are the useful idiots?

There are reputational consequences for Prince Harry of the United Kingdom in dabbling in the affairs of other sovereign nations, from which follow security implications. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the security services of the US and UK aren't perfectly happy for him to be stuck and easily locatable & monitored in Montecito.

Harry has been dabbling beyond his ability and his purview for a while, not only with his televised criticism of the 1st Amendment of the US, but with the direction of Invictus. For example, we have seen his Canadian First Nations meeting (where he excluded the actual first First Nations female governor), and, somewhat paradoxically in view of his supposed concerns about land rights, his installation of the Israeli IDF as part of the Invictus 'family'. The choice to badge up 'Israel Invictus' is a political one. If people think the current situation around Eurovision is uncomfortable, then what awaits Invictus? Will it cease to be unifying and become divisive in Harry's hands? He's playing with fire, and Meghan's degree in international relations won't save him.

I might regret this, but which parts of what he says about the SS are wrong? Which of his (named) sources are wrong?

I posted on another thread recently how I read some of the Sussex Squad commentators on social media (which is where this comes from) and see how they carefully go through every interaction between the Prince and Princess of Wales to find a single photo where there is a tiny moment when they look solemn, where they are turned away from each other, where their attention is focussed on someone else. That is presented as proof that they cannot stand each other, and don’t want to be in each other’s company. As you have just asserted.

What that approach does however is to ignore all other interactions between them entirely. Which are the majority and are completely different in tone. Where they regularly make eye contact, smile at each other, mirror each other’s gestures, touch each other fleeting as they move around their location. This isn’t just drawn from photographed milleseconds either, but video footage of them together. This doesn’t look like the vibe of a couple who are separating and unhappy.

I posted the example from last year’s Korean state visit as an example. The photo in the car was crowed over online as “evidence” the couple hate each other. Their natural interactions on the dais minutes later - completely ignored of course. As was the footage from later in the day when, filmed from behind, they were seen to naturally put their arms around one another’s waists as they walked out of a room.

It seems Dan has his own platform now, not just YouTube. I think he’s vile, but seems he became obsessed after H&M unleashed the SS to destroy him. Just catching up . Goodness me , this thread took an unexpected turn . I didn’t recognise the name of the SS poster but they were incredibly het up !

And both the long range "pap" shots/video have been AI enhanced to unblur them. AI will fill in any features it feels is necessary and make the image how it thinks it should look. The user doing the enhancing can also influence the end result.

What about African Parks? Harry was president for 6 years, then moved to board member. I read a press release for a recent auction for Sentebale where it mentioned H's African Parks board member position. Yet he has gone totally silent about AP.

What about Endgame? Where did Scobie get the famous letter? How do you feel about the treatment of those poor Dutch translators?

If the 'Sussex Squad' are in effect harming the standing of H&M, is it inadvertent or advertent?

I appreciate that people will have varying opinions. Liking people is a very individual thing. From those who are famous, music stars, models, tv personalities, etc.

There are those who are awful when speaking about H&M. But nothing like as organised and awful as their ‘supporters’.

The thing is no one normal dislikes H&M for just being. They dislike the actions. That is it.

And while I appreciate that some will pull out the same old excuses and instances in a bid to blur the lines around that behaviour, it won’t take away a dislike of what they have done.

To then attack someone else/others by perpetuating rumours, attacking marriages/ inventing scenarios during a time that there was clearly something personal and dreadful going on, in yet another bid to deflect and detract? It is shameful behaviour.

I have no idea why any genuine supporter of H&M would want to associate themselves with the squads by repeatedly trotting out the same old nonsense.
