Photoshoot for the Sussex Children?

MrsFinkelstein · 21/03/2024 16:03

I actually hope this isn't true. It's one thing I've always admired of the Sussexes, that they have (generally) protected their children's privacy very effectively.

I hope its not related to the new commercial venture.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Meghan Markle has photoshoot of Archie and Lilibet

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: The photo-shoot, at Prince Harry and Meghan's mansion in Montecito, coincided with the launch of Meghan's lifestyle and cookery brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Please let's not.

Unless we want to get the thread closed for derailing, which I don't.

I think it might be people magazine.

themessygarden · 24/03/2024 21:43

Apparently they are interviewing for a CEO, which means they are not planning on running it themselves, so by the sounds of it they have no management team, as well as no product line. Such a bizarre start-up.

I would have thought you would have some sort of product in place when you launch, to rake advantage of the initial buzz. Not a full range, as you would build up to that, but something people could buy if so inclined?

It is a bit odd. They do seem to rush into things with lots of fanfare only to then not follow through with anything substantive. Archewell would now seems to be part of the new Sussex website. What happened to Travelyst? The Spotify deal is no more. Very little content to date on Netflix. And now a shop with no merchandise. Doesn’t seem to be a very sustainable way to carry on 🤷‍♀️

What happened to Better Up as well? I thought Harry was an employee?

themessygarden · 24/03/2024 23:43

Goop had a very different start-up model to how Meghan appears to be launching. It started out as a weekly newsletter, it was about four or five years before they started selling products online, by then it was very well known and well established as a wellness brand, albeit a controversial one.

Thats a good question about Better Up, I wonder if Harry still 'works' for them, I think they laid off a lot of employees at one point, and there were lots of complaints about working conditions and gripes about Harry.

Because they think being royal is enough.
It isn't, especially their brand of royalty.

From what I've read, Better Up sounds utterly toxic and somewhat cultish.

Seizethedog · 25/03/2024 08:14

Also what happened to Travelyst? Or whatever it is called.

skullbabe · 25/03/2024 08:49

Travalyst is basically a coalition of some big travel and tech companies like Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Expedia, Google, Mastercard and Visa with a goal of making travel more eco-friendly and to help protect the environment and local communities.

It looks like they’ve recently agreed with their partners to create an independent advisory group to vet tourism-focused global certification bodies to assess whether they can be displayed on its partner platforms as being sustainable (or so says Polly Lomas - Head of Strategy 🤣).

Good question.

It all went very quiet after absorbing charitable donations originating in the Royal Foundation and placing the final destination of said funds beyond the scrutiny of the UK charity watchdog in the process.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 25/03/2024 09:14

That's really disturbing @CathyorClaire about the Royal Foundation money. I would hope the Royal Foundation itself would be able to request an account of where its money has been used. Is it now a US corporation? Delaware by any chance? Is Harry still involved?* All his private jet use for unnecessary jollies is rather incompatible with the original aims of the organisation.

*Sorry for all the questions!

Clearly there was a division of the money as Harry set that up with his brother, his own charity projects deserved some of what was in the royal foundation. Seems fairly straight forward to me.

Im confused what this thread is, isn’t it about the Daily Mail story on the Sussex children?
