I agree op

I don't think it's her either. I would assume that there would be paparazzi parked wherever she is, watching out for her. How come all there is is that blurry footage?
I'm not assuming conspiracy theories but it's only from one source. Mistaken identity?

oh dear

Your username suits you!

He's put his finger on exactly why conspiracy theories don't work - numbers. When you look at the numbers of people who'd have to be involved in something like moon landings, Diana's death, all the other ones - and apparently not one of them blabbed to family member, got drunk and blurted it out or thought hey, you know what? I could write a book about this, blow the lid off something that's puzzled the world and make MILLIONS!

And it's the reason why real conspiracies don't work, either. The more people in the know, the more likely someone will let something slip.

That's what they want you to think.

It's part of the conspiracy

Severalwhippets · 20/03/2024 05:37

The footage remains completely unverified.
William avoided questions about it yesterday.

If it was them I would expect a royal source to confirm it was them and she is returning to work in the near future.

Kensington Palace now have the twin problem of one half saying it’s not Kate, and the other half saying it is Kate so why isn’t she back at work? Even a few zoom calls and statements of thanks. Why the need for a fake mother day photo if she is this spritely?!

Yes they have a growing PR problem that they are not doing anything about. A credibility and trust issue and we still don’t know where Kate actually is…..

I somehow doubt that

Snusnusnu · 20/03/2024 05:58

If it is not them it does not have to be worthy of a conspiracy. It could be a pair of impersonators trying to get famous. Though given the circumstances it would be very inappropriate and unfair to add more social media fuel.

RokaandRoll · 20/03/2024 06:00

If it was her she did seem very sprightly. Strange to be carrying a bag if she was recovering from abdominal surgery - usually I think you're not meant to lift anything, not even a kettle to make a cup of tea for example. And she was walking very quickly.

If she was capable of both of those things why isn't she working? It reminds me of those people who lose their disability benefits when caught riding a horse or working on the roof or something.

HarryUnicorn · 20/03/2024 06:04

The bonkersness of this whole saga has been fun to witness but I fear nothing is going to stop it now. Any photo/video/appearance is just going to be met with faked/lookalike/replacement claims.

To me it very much looks like her in the video, no the AI ‘clean up’ doesn’t but that’s because it’s not real despite what a lot on Twitter seem to think.

It doesn’t surprise me that there’s only one person’s grainy footage from the shop visit, and other people around seem nonplussed. I live in West Norfolk, not too far from Sandringham, and (a while back not recently) saw Kate in Waitrose a few times as did friends. Her security were crazy hot on stopping people taking photos, getting them to delete any they had etc but without making a load of fuss. Locals never seemed to fussed and the only photos that ever emerged were pretty crap long distance ones.

Apparently a local film producer took the photo and video! One wonders if he hired impersonators for a laugh!
Of all the people there not a single person took a photo but one London based film producer who happened to travel all the way to a farm shop in Berkshire or wherever like there aren't any shops in London.

Good point. Or to make a lot of money selling the images to tabloids.

Oh for the love of god, take an aspirin and have a lie down,

Alternatively, go back to the "Paul McCartney was replaced in the 60s" theory,

This!

Differentstarts · 20/03/2024 06:25

Although I don't think there is some big conspiracy and I believe Kate will come back after Easter like nothing happened. I also don't think that, that is a photo of will or kate

martellotower · 20/03/2024 06:34

@LiterallyOnFire maybe take your own advice?

Did he, though? Or is this more baseless internet speculation?

People had googled and found a Nelson Silva on Linked in who works at Lego as a film producer, and decided it must be him. He was however contacted by Ellie Hall, a pro-Sussex reporter (whose recent article has been linked to a few times on this board) and she clarified that he is not the man who took the video.

That’s not Kate. No way!

She’s probably recovering from a nervous breakdown.. and no bloody wonder!

This conspiracy nonsense is out of control. It was bad enough before but now staff at the hospital where KM was treated have been caught trying to access her medical records to find out what op she had. What a vile, horrible, paranoid world this is that she’s being hounded by the public and press to prove how ill she’s been.

Crispypops · 20/03/2024 06:43

All we need is KP to confirm it was then and all the madness will be over!

GuinnessBird · 20/03/2024 06:44

I reckon John Oliver hired two impersonators.

2 months on you can lift as normal. I had a major abdominal surgery, part of my pancreas removed. By 2 months post op I could have easily carried a bag of shopping (which could have been really light).

The person who filmed it has come out and said quit these conspiracy theories, he saw them with his own eyes. As had some cricketer who see’s them every day at school run. I think people are going to need to get another hobby now

ShamedBySiri · 20/03/2024 06:48

Even my DH is talking about it now - he's not interested in Royalty or celebrities.
But he has a theory.....

It's not Kate. The chap is William. They have a cook who looks a bit like Kate. William took her shopping to buy something tempting for Kate.

I like it! It's as good as any other loopy theories! Grin

(He's joking).

CaramelMac · 20/03/2024 06:49

KP will never confirm or deny because it would then give the green light for people to start selling footage of them when they’re out and about privately all the time and going to a farm shop is hardly worth commenting on, if it was footage of them breaking the law they may be more inclined to put out a statement!

I don’t think it is them, I don’t think it’s a conspiracy or a body double, or they’re in on it, I just think someone saw a couple that he mistook for them, filmed from far away and sold it to the Sun who are using it as click-bait.

It doesn’t look like her, the face is wrong, the walk is wrong, the height difference is wrong, the clothing style is wrong, the reactions (or lack of) of other people around them is wrong.

ShamedBySiri · 20/03/2024 06:51

GuinnessBird · 20/03/2024 06:44

I reckon John Oliver hired two impersonators.

My theory is the Sun hired them so they could run the story, get one over their competitors and get lots of clicks.

Alternatively two look alike models did it themselves to generate publicity and more work.

Windymoore · 20/03/2024 06:51

FFS.

Ringpeace · 20/03/2024 06:55

The fatal flaw in the 'lookalikes' theory is that none of the William and Kate lookalikes look anything like William and Kate.
