@Roussette everything is a facade. Sorry to be cynical.

The NHS, our politicians, the education system, celebrity life, insta influencers, the army, the UN, Save the children, religious institutions, Oxfam, you'll find manipulation, dishonesty and corruption in every single one of these organisations. I suppose it's human nature Easter Sad

ArcaneWireless · 22/03/2024 14:02

Manipulation of the public?

Only by those daft enough to be manipulated/care so much/speculate and make commentary their very existence for being.

Every organisation, every country’s ruling body and indeed most people just release the information they want out there.

Every now and again something will come to light that isn’t quite in keeping or scandalous. It will be talked about and magically go away when replaced by the next revelation.

ArcaneWireless · 22/03/2024 14:03

Cross post.

Good point potty.

I think we can see through your BS to be fair. But at least you recognise you’re shortly going to have a lot of backpedaling to do..

My bs and what bs is that? Nothing I have said is bs. And backpeddling over what? She had a serious health issue? If she talks about it after demanding privacy it's a sympathy play? Whybwoukd I backpedal on what? So what backpeddling is there that I will be doing?

Roussette · 22/03/2024 14:31

I think it is manipulation of SOME of the public. Not me, but a lot of people buy into all this royal guff

They are just extremely wealthy people who want us to keep believing in them.

I agree what's not great is that if people challenge and point tmkt out they are called nutters, conspiracy theorists and all manner of names becuase why they don't swallow the bs. This stuff happens it's not some fluffy world where everyone has good intentions and no wya could anyone do that, why would they.

Roussette · 22/03/2024 13:53

The bottom line for me is....KP, the Principal Private Secretaries, the Comms and PR people have done an appalling job. Kate didn't release a pic, they did. I would think everything is run through them before release to the public
I cannot get my head round William saying he took the pic the week before, did he put that lie out, or was that the Comms people?

I hate this manipulation of the public. The RF have been doing it far too long. (Queen with tupperware of cornflakes means she is so frugal and just like us. No she was not!)
I hope the public has woken up and stops accepting everything fed to us because it's all a facade

My understanding was that the fact that the photo was taken at the stated location was confirmed by one of the ‘experts’ who’ve waded in and commented on the data. I’m pretty sure I read that and I do mean taken, not edited. Obviously some people don’t believe it was an edited photo (however heavily) but effectively a composite of other pictures which never existed as a single photo. In which case it would be inaccurate to say who took it and where. I know some people on here have stated it’s the latter but I don’t think that’s ever actually been said by any of the expert analysts or in the reputable media, just part of the sm noise. I could have missed it though.

Totally agree, nobody gives a shit when it’s Meghan being bullied but god forbid anyone comments on precious Kate

Kate up until now has barely put a foot wrong - Meghan on the other hand...!!!!

ArcaneWireless · 22/03/2024 14:42

There is Royal guff. Like any other guff.

And from what I’ve noticed, not much will beat the guff on here.

Salemforcuddles · 22/03/2024 14:47

@Spectre8 The issue is that she should have the right to choose if and when she wants to discuss her health issues Not because " we pay so we have rights"

Perhaps she wasn't sure of the outcome , perhaps she wanted to get her own head around it , perhaps she has succumbed to pressure, we don't know what her motivation will be if she decides that talk about it

Salemforcuddles · 22/03/2024 14:48

@ArcaneWireless Agreed, this is the guffiest ever

I don’t think you can really compare the two women. They come from completely different cultures and backgrounds. I’m an American woman who has lived in England for 15 years, and not in the RF!, and it’s been a hugely surreal and stressful experience.

Roussette · 22/03/2024 14:57

I love the word 'guff' almost as much as I Iove the word 'twaddle' 😅

Salemforcuddles · 22/03/2024 14:59

In Scotland it means a bad smell!

Many people buy into the NHS. The NHS which makes some people very, very well off and takes massive advantage of others. Where whistleblowers suffer mentally for the rest of their days vent they wanted to uphold patient safety and some NHS staff are unbelievably corrupt and high on their power. Especially among management. Yet somehow we believe in the goodness of the NHS, it's all a lie, especially since covid. And the army, wants our young people to join but treats said young people with sheer and utter inhumanity. Oxfam, save the children, all has scandals where they exploited the most vulnerable yet they are still asking for donations. I'm not entirely sure the royal family is the black sheep of British society you make out. Apart from Andrew of course. I'm not too keen on them but there are many, many more wealth individuals and corrupt organisations we should be more worried about.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 22/03/2024 15:09

Some people live in a bubble, and guff is all around them.

EasternStandard · 22/03/2024 15:12

People respond to different things. For some it might be the RF stuff, or the pageantry others might enjoy the kind of thing H&M do and think their work is meaningful

I doubt anyone will convince anyone tbh

It doesn't matter what your cultural background is - betraying family for money is hardly an acceptable way to behave? Though I do blame Harry more for that, but Meghan played her part! The way she performed her exaggerated curtsey in mockery of the late Queen was despicable!

But what exactly has Meghan done that’s wrong? Except not wear tights one day.

That might well be but I'm on a Royal Family board talking about the Monarchy specifically
Saying the Monarchy is not so bad as other black sheep of society ..well, if there's relevant threads elsewhere to talk about the other black sheep, I'll be there!

I agree; they shouldn’t be compared. It always feels like SS are comparing though.

@Overtheatlantic

I imagine it is hugely stressful to move to another country and a different culture. Even the air smells different than “home” and I’m only a few states away.

I had someone at work, who travels constantly, check on me when I was away for just two weeks. He said “I know how difficult it can be, even to travel in another English speaking country. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone that speaks in your own accent.”

I often think MM and H probably both experience this disconnect in Montecito, having landed in a place that can’t be anything like what they were accustomed to prior to 5 years ago.

ArcaneWireless · 22/03/2024 12:02

Meghan got, 'we pay, you pose'

Not from me she didn’t.

Although I can’t recall her having an abdominal operation.

Maybe then it would be different. I’m sure she would get the same silly speculation. And probably from the same speculators questioning Kate.

Inanity rarely differentiates.

Nor me. In fact I’ve always defended her when it came to marriage, children, health.
