Why "that picture" was killed.

Photo agencies can only accept pictures that represent "a moment in time." The picture can be tidied up, but can only be a single image. "That picture" was a composite, or a montage, so didn't represent a single moment in time. This rule applies even to merging images from the same shoot.

Obviously if the picture had been simply posted by them on their Instagram feed, it would have been fine. But it wasn't. It went to the agencies with the intention of syndicating it world wide, so not fine. HTH.

I think this whole thing is a storm in a teacup but if it is true a montage or whatever isn't allowed then it just isn't. I believe Kate is an enthusiastic and relatively talented amateur photographer , & I can understand her wanting her to tidy it up a but. Also to have more control over family photos . But In truth just take a few photos and pick the best one. Who will care if it isn't perfect. . The trouble is this photo has just given conspiracy theorists a way to imply things which probably aren't true.
I am surprised they did not know these rules so with any luck , lesson learned for next time.

They are clearly not the same person because Curlew Kate was being reasonable and explaining why the photo was killed, in a non-alarmist way (e.g. just because it was a montage rather than a retouch).

WhatAreThey was making a rather different, much more anti-RF point in their post. I assume EhatAreThey was saying “oh you forgot to add [RF are dishonest twats]”. I paraphrase obv.
