Spanish press reporting Kate was extremely ill

I don’t know how credible this is because I saw it on Twitter…

But apparently the media in Spain have reported that Catherine’s surgery was not actually planned, did not go smoothly and she was actually very sick/possibly in a coma for a period of time. And there has been a press blackout in the UK.

Could there be any truth in this? I’m struggling to see WHY something like that would be ‘hidden’ anyway 🤔

Kate may well talk about her issues once she is fully recovered and has come to terms with/got to grips with whatever it is, but it’s a bit much to ask that she talks about it while she is still going through it.

Announcing it was ‘abdominal surgery’ hasn’t stopped the speculation what it was an eating disorder or DV so specifying the exact nature of the surgery would compromise her privacy but I’m not convinced it would actually stop the speculation.

Multiple posts have asked for a simple photo as ‘proof of life’ and once a photo is posted, it is torn apart. Kate admits to ‘editing’ and it’s spun into putting out a photo that she wasn’t even in. People believe or choose not to believe whatever is put out there.

Kate knows that photos last forever and any photos of her looking less than 100% would be wheeled out to attack her. It isn’t uncommon to look gaunt/bloated/tired after surgery so I don’t blame her for not wanting photos taken until she is ready.

Not just crohns though - motor neurone, MS, arthritis, lupus, kidney disease, and of course rare conditions too (my condition is very rare, 1:500000 I think)... So many people who are fighting huge battles and isolated and dealing with awful medication and traumatic surgery

Remember, many of the posts on Twitter are bots. They were always a problem, but now they are AI backed. They latch onto a theme and depending on their programming, they can exacerbate if the original coder was malicious enough. Such is life. I really feel terrible for Kate. Perhaps she is too nice, and really should just tell enough to mind their own business until she recovers from the surgery.

I dont care. Its not affect my life whatsoever. I just wondering why british people nosey soo much about royal family. It wont affect you or me. We dont even know them personally. On another thread today someone was complaining about her sister publicising her cancer diagnosis. People seemed to be in general agreement that you shouldn't share people's medical details without their consent, and it's OK to want to keep that sort of thing private.

I have skimmed across the top of some of it. I am horrified and disgusted. It shows how many really mentally disturbed people there are out there.

I can, there is some gross stuff on there, the racism is beyond foul, the anti-vax insanity flares up periodically, the Trump supporters are mind boggling crazy. I like it for very quick breaking news and follow stuff on cats, art and books, but since Elon took over it is very hard to avoid all the hate and madness. Haven't done a deep dive into the Kate stuff as I can guess just how gross it will be. I am not a royalist and think that we would all be better off if they could be "let go" to be private and very wealthy citizens. This horrible speculation is another reason I think it does nobody any good to have a royal family.

Well don’t forget people keep pointing out that they pay taxes! That seems to make them feel they own the RF. I’m not sure how many pennies we each pay to buy this prying right but some people seem to feel it is owed us. 🙄

There are hateful threads towards Meghan still standing. Just do a search and you will find them. The obvious racism does tend to get deleted.

It's about £1.80 a year. And half the people spouting about wanting their one pound eighty of Catherine's flesh don't even pay that, because they are net takers from the public purse. So I hope they are prepared to reveal the intimate details of their medical conditions, when the Tories seize on their bright idea that those paid for by the taxpayer are actually to be treated as owned by the taxpayer, and open to a potentially humiliating public examination, like a piece of cattle (or even a slave).

@BenefitWaffle why do you keep bringing up Meghan and repeating conspiracy theories about her on a thread about Catherine? All women in the public eye are subject to absolutely vile abuse on X and other platforms. Not all of them also have an eponymous fan base meting out the abuse.

I was out clubbing the night of the crash. Our taxi driver told us about the crash on the way home and we watched the news all night. It was definitely reported that Diana walked from the crash with a broken arm. At that point, we decided to go to bed. We were really confused when we heard she had died.
