Richard Eden, the DM’s royal editor, said on Palace Confidential that he was disappointed in by the staff and by William. Even went so far as saying that it wasn’t the gentleman thing to do, to let his wife take the hit. That they have paid comma staff and nobody should have let that leave their desk without being checked. Something to that effect. Surprising as he’s such a loyal lover usually.

I will say that it looks like they have been badly advised.

It was 100% ok to not release any photos and for Kate to take 3 months off due to a medical situation. They just needed to hang in there and let the public wait 3 months. During this time other royals needed to step up and fill the media void. They didn't hold their nerve and ended up making a big mistake by sharing a photoshopped image. I don't know who's idea it was to share a photo that is heavily constructed but it's unfortunate that it didn't occur to them that this was not a good idea. Unless the furore about the picture was intended to distract the public from Kate's illness. Whatever it is, the royal family are not showing strong and secure leadership during this crisis. Managing the media must be one of the top priorities after security I would have thought. How could this be so bangled? It's not about conspiracy, it is a lack of leadership and quality advice. I am guessing that the stress Harry and Meghan have cause the family has really undermined their resilience. However they should have palace aids to catch this sort of thing.

There’s a few threads on here where someone has unflattering pic on FB or whatever and everyone talks them down from asking the person to remove it, or whatever

That initial car pic could be Kate’s version on a global scale though, all the new pics just makes it more of a thing

KP specifically said that it was a 2024 photo. A bit of a coincidence if they all rewore clothes from a specific day in 2023.

Kate is being royally screwed over. That’s my instinct on this, the palace are closing ranks, and they have fed Kate to the dogs over the Mother’s Day photo.

I didn’t have much respect for William before but now I can’t stand him. What kind of man uses his beleaguered hospitalised wife as a human shield for their own fuck up??

It is really odd that having wheeled her out to prove all is well, they didn't make a better attempt to look like all is well.

The frantically organised pap shot yesterday was another PR disaster, the fact we can’t even be sure it is Kate tells us everything we need to know about her desire to be there, paraded in front of the media. Had Kate welcomed the opportunity no doubt we would have seen her signature smile and wave. Clearly she looks sad. Clearly she doesn’t want to be there. William is looking at his phone that’s how interested he is in supporting his wife. It beggars belief.

I feel desperately sorry for Kate. The palace are clearly not interested in protecting her at this point, and she is looking very exposed.

The only job I am assuming W&K were instructed to do was clearly to reassure the nation that all is well in the RF yesterday, and quite frankly it was total failure and created even more uneasy questions. Kate’s body language alone speaks volumes. I would say their marriage is over, best case scenario.

They had one job, and she choose to turn away. William choose to look at his phone. It looks bad, because it is bad. It’s uncharacteristic to say the least.

I was agreeing with someone about William not taking responsibility, you ignore the original poster and their post, I wrote just three words ("absolutely he won't") and I get a massive spiel back from you.

Let's all not forget that pretty much the last thing that happened before Kate took sick leave, Scobie published his nasty little book with that ever so oooooopsi translation mishap claiming she is the royal racist.

For a woman who has talked about being bullied in school and who has not made one wrong step, with a squeaky clean image that sort of negative publicity must have been absolutely unbearable. She wasn't able to defend herself. Why? Was she actually the royal racist? Or is she taking the hit for another family member?We are lucky to have Kate, she is not full of herself and is trying to do her best serving the country as a royal and raising a well rounded future King.

I'd like to know what Scobie is doing now and how he feels about behaving in this torturous way towards Kate. He is a nasty bully.
