I think it’s a lovely natural photo of them all looking at ease with each other. Although they’re just asking for speculation showing her hands with no rings on. Even though it could be for any reason, no matter when the photo was taken.

The fact that Kate is sitting down shows that she’s still recovering. I can’t see why people think it was taken last year. I’ve had major abdominal surgery myself so I wish her well.
