Sorry @LadyEloise1 . As above, I'm exhausted and have had a headache since last night.

I've been looking for images of the Delhi Durbar of 1911, attended by George V and Queen Mary in their capacities as Emperor and Empress of India. But the black and white photography of the time doesn't do the occasion justice, so here are some coloured images.

I know this doesn't count as iconic, but it felt right given that today is the 28th anniversary of the Dunblane Massacre. I was the same age as the children killed, so that day had a massive impact on me. I remember watching The Queen and Princess Royal on Newsround, and seeing them look upset. It was the first time it really occurred to me that the royal family were actual people.

The Princess Royal looking good at Cheltenham today. (It's a pity in some ways that she already is the Princess Royal, because there's no higher title the King can give her, and she really deserves something. She is already a member of the Order of the Thistle, which Edward was recently appointed to.)
