Apparently there is enough to arrest two individuals as well.

"Paparazzi did chase Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “recklessly” through New York last year, police have confirmed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said at the time that they and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland narrowly avoided a “catastrophic” crash while being pursued by paparazzi after leaving the Women of Vision Awards at Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Ballroom on 16 May. [...]

However, in a hearing at the High Court on Wednesday, a judge revealed New York City Police did investigate the car chase and found paparazzi did display “persistently dangerous and unacceptable behaviour”.

On the back of this, no wonder he's bothered about security. And his mother was chased to death.

So he bailed out of a security car (with an experienced driver) and put himself, his wife and his mother in law into a yellow cab driven by a complete stranger with likely zero security driver experience! Make it make sense otherwise it's just as a lot of people think, a farce.

I'm not up to speed on security protocols but, how would RAVEC have helped him in NYC in that type of situation, unless he was going for IPP status?

Whatever US security he had at the time of the 'catastrophic car chase' let him down, nothing to do with palace grey suits or a U.K. government conspiracy or U.K. media.

I also thought one of his own team was also cautioned? in the end no one at all was charged. Reckless behaviour all round in my opinion.

👏

Also interesting how he’s released this spin when the court ruling came out

I don't think he controls the new york high court.

But but but.....it will still somehow be their fault, they clearly planned it this way of course. Lolllll

He's like a whack-a-mole.

Aren't they bored of being victims yet?

Yes the way it was reported on the threads gave the impression it was a leak. Apparently the report isn’t as damning as it’s been made out to be anyway. So maybe he wishes he did get to control the judge 😉

Calm down dear, no need for hysterics

It's quite often worth reading things fully. You'd be surprised what you can learn.

Turns out he also doesn’t get to dictate to the Home Secretary. But apparently he’s still unable to accept that.

Maybe you should read the NYPD’s report properly. It doesn’t actually corroborate the catastrophic 80mph car chase 😉

You realise I was taking the piss out of the constant rebuttals lol it wasn't being hysterical just some lighthearted ribbing of what happens

Thought the laughing emoji would be enough to give context 🤷

Or what? You’ll make more snide comments? Go for it 😂

A pity you can’t contradict my point though, that the new information doesn’t prove there was a catastrophic high speed car chase after all 😉

Reckless and inappropriate- quite far removed from catastrophic!

And emojis! 😆

But you're right, let’s leave exaggerating to the experts like Scobie, Harry and Meghan. Takes skill to spin something as catastrophic and near fatal, when the NYPD would describe the same event as merely reckless and inappropriate.

Nice chat but I’ll leave you to the buzzkill tumbleweed thread, the court case one is far more interesting to read!

The letter from the NYPD is dated 6 Dec. Why haven't they arrested the 2 individuals then?
I'm sure the paparazzi were being reckless and unacceptable - they usually always are. So why not arrest them if it was that bad? A lot of NYC traffic can be reckless and unacceptable, if arrests are made then it would mean something.

That's a good question. It could be that while the NYPD felt they had enough evidence to do so, they could have asked the Sussexes if they wanted to pursue it and they said no? Since no actual crime was committed, like no one was physically hurt?

I think depending on the crime, individuals can peruse a case but the police/courts can actually decide to peruse it themselves even if the victim says no.

And I think I read somewhere else that the chief (of something) in NY would amp up security protocols for the Sussexes so it seems that it was resolved.
