I saw Camilla heading into London on Talgarth Road near Barons Court at lunchtime.

If it does turn out to be something serious and Andrew was pictured grinning like a gibbon then my opinion of him will be even lower than it already is. Odious little toad really looked like the cat that got the cream.

Maybe he thinks he’s won if it was him or William at the memorial and Charles didn’t back William - I can imagine him thinking this is the start of his way back in.

GracieNotes · 27/02/2024 17:47

Maybe he's got an almighty headache or a stomach bug.
Maybe he and Kate are struggling with the news about Charles and the thought of what comes next. Must be unsettling.
The man's allowed to take a day off.

The man has been off since mid January.

It is a luxury completely unavailable to the average family for two parents to take months off when one has surgery.

He's hardly needed to fold laundry or cook dinner.

They're completely out of touch.

99% of people would have to juggle work along with the rest of it.

MrsMitford3 · 27/02/2024 18:02

Andrew is shockingly oblivious/unaware of public opinion or DGAS.
He looked happy as a pig in shit today. Terrible optics.

I walk my dog on the Long Walk behind Windsor Castle everyday.
The road is not open to the public but he loves to come flying down from White Lodge because he can.
During the height of the Epstein stuff/his troubles etc when you'd have thought he would see a low profile he was driving down, window the whole way down so you could clearly see him.
Slowed and smiled and gave us a very royal wave.
As if it were a treat for us!

Am I not the only one who did a double take where it read Queen I really dislike Camilla having this title. Consort at the absolute most for me

FramboiseRoyale · 27/02/2024 18:03

Who'd want that life?

I assume Catherine wanted it. She did have a choice.

She's married to the king, that makes her queen. And she's queen consort, she's just dropped the consort bit - which only means wife of the king anyway. There were interminable threads about this back in September 2022.

Zone2NorthLondon · 27/02/2024 18:06

Every RF thread there are sycophants desperate to tell us how normal yet put upon they are
Before asking melancholically who'd want that life as if it’s a ghastly endeavour, a penance to be borne without complaint

I'm sad to say that I've been pretty disappointed in William not stepping up.
Sure, his wife is in recovery from a serious procedure.
His dad is newly diagnosed with cancer.
Both overwhelming in any family.
But this is not an 'ordinary' family.
Their overriding reason for being is to provide stability amongst the chaos.
I'm a royalist but they are failing badly.
I cannot imagine a scenario under our last monarch where she ever encouraged so much rumour and gossip.
It's not good optics for the future.
There's lots to be said of 'say nothing' but in todays world that vacuum will undoubtedly be filled.
Usually with lies and half truths.
I hope it's something innocuous.

The Queen woukdnt behave this way she took the role seriously and rarely cancelled events so I can see why it's so disappointing. The contrast is so stark

He is becoming more half in and half out

Spectre8 · 27/02/2024 18:09

So personal reasons....maybe he didn't want to be seen with Andrew now he is reportedly back in the fold

I mean I could believe that

Agree with this assessment, also a local in Windsor and witnessed this odd behaviour, he’s really quite obnoxious

There we go, now we know! Someone I'd not heard of has died.

Well I've heard of him and no doubt his family are in shock. My condolences to them. So young.

I can't see that would have been the reason though as Gabriella's parents attended the service.

Quizine · 27/02/2024 18:10

LipstickLil · 27/02/2024 17:20

William has attended plenty of things with Andrew over the past few years so I don't believe he'd pull out of such a public event at the last minute simply because Andrew was going to be there - that doesn't make any sense.

That rings true for me anyway. We haven't a clue what they are thinking, or how they feel about miscreants in their midst do we? Did W actually make a statement to say he would not ever be within a mile of Andrew forever more or something?

If his presence (Andrew's) was going to be controversial since it was presumably on the invitation of the late bloke's family and not the King, then why was the Service held in Windsor Chapel and not in some private church somewhere out of the eyes of the press? A private memorial could have been arranged with all the guests including A and his non wife I'm sure. Strange to me for it to be so public and visible and papped. The service was for a person that few know much about and is not a member of any current Royal Family in Europe. Why bring all that publicity if the POW was/is totally against being in the presence of Andrew?

Therefore, I don't think it had anything to do with A, as POW would have known for a long time who was on the invited guest list. Nope not buying that one!

We may never hear another word about this again. It will fade out of people's minds tomorrow. Unless it is something scandalous or something that can be verified, i.e. one of the kids was sick and now has had surgery and is fine, or has a cast, or he or she attacked another kid in the school, and THAT kid is in hospital. That's a good un (not that I want that to happen), and plausible. Do I win? 😊

Fair point, and actually it seems that he died on Sunday, so William would already have know.

My money is he's suddenly come down with something.

CurlewKate · 27/02/2024 18:10

@DeliciouslyDecadent "The support staff you mention are there so they can do their job."

Couples who are both surgeons, MPs, A&E nurses or train drivers manage it without an on call staff of 90!!

lpylu · 27/02/2024 18:10

Maybe Will and Kate are on the rocks.

BeaRF75 · 27/02/2024 18:11

Speculation is tempting, but the son-in-law of Prince and Princess Michael has died. OK, he was not a royal and very much the minor part of the family, but a young woman has lost her husband. They are a family and they have troubles - just like all families.

Wishitsnows · 27/02/2024 12:38

Well he wasn’t going in the direction of his kids school so def not dropping of forgotten PE kit! Doubt he is Ill as it’s not like he would need to pop our for his own prescription!

Being ill would be the most obvious and easy excuse, they didn't use it and they know for whatever reason, they can't. Probably because he won't be behind closed doors, he was going somewhere..

CurlewKate · 27/02/2024 18:12

oakleaffy · 27/02/2024 18:12

The Queen???
The Queen is dead.

Camilla ain’t no Queen.

Revolting Randy Andy smirking and lording it up-

No wonder William didn’t want to be there.

The Times are saying that the sad death of Tom Kingston is not the reason William pulled out of the service.

"She's married to the king, that makes her queen."

Yes it does. The wife of the king has the title of queen. Just like all the women in England/Britain/Scotland and many other countries throughout history who were married to kings had the title of queen. And you can say 'It doesn't, you know!' and click your heels three times as many times as you like, it doesn't change that fact.

Zone2NorthLondon · 27/02/2024 18:15

They are a family and they have troubles - just like all families. I hear that in a kat slater voice faaaamily cue the Doof doofs
