Meghan is a sweet and kind lady.
Wherever the RF do "charity" "work" they don't donate money. In stead they go there in clothes, cars paid for by tax payers with staff paid for by staff payers to cut a ribbon.
Even the builders, architects and people who will work in the building do much more and actual work than the RF yet they must be hallowed for it otherwise their followers blindly wail at the thought of them being criticised.

The recent headline that social housing will be built on RF land for example is a case of the more you look the less you see.

William says his life's work is to end homelessness and takes an annual photo with a man portrayed to be homeless. He doesn't donate his money to actually build anything. This recent report is for a minute amount; 20 or so units.
In fact this is a planning requirement to build a certain percentage of social housing in every new development.
1 for every 9 or so.

Congratulations to Mayhew and God bless Meghan.
Even though the RF and BM hate her and use the press against her to deflect from those who must not be criticised she has kindness flowing through her and has donated her own money to a charity in the UK.

PS don't buy a pet if you can't keep them and try to find a home for them if circumstances change.

No half term ends next week

The charity clearly state the donation was by Meghan.

Expectedly the BM who are usually all over her every move are silent on this.
Kate has never given any of her money to any charity, but she's "working hard".

Firstly, you have no idea how much Kate does or does not donate to charity as she doesn't make sure the media know about it.

Secondly, the blurb only refers to a 'generous donation'. It doesn't say how much that donation was. Meghan runs a 'charitable foundation' so by law at least some of that money has to go to charity so it's not some great personal gesture. If you read the entire paragraph, not just your selective quote, it states clearly that the money came from her Foundation.

Thirdly, why compare her to Kate? They were never close and haven't spoken in over 4 years. Meghan spent 2 years of her life in the royal family, and 40 outside it. Why does everything come back to this short period of her life? Shouldn't you be comparing her to others who run 'charitable foundations' in America? Who donate millions to their causes?

Archewell donated over a million dollars last year to charities and good causes world wide, shame the press didn't give that the same coverage than the same old stories about H&M.

I worked for a Royal Charity for 11 years that outsripped that year in year out and that was 20 years ago. We got very little publicity.

FuzzyManul · 23/02/2024 14:14

What a fawning, revolting post.

‘ , when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.’

Yes. A million is peanuts by the standards of big charitable foundations. Certainly not newsworthy. Isn't that what such organisations do, and indeed are legally obliged to do, even by the generous standards of American 'charitable foundations'?

BigFluffyHoodie · 23/02/2024 14:27

It says Archewell Foundation donated the money. Not the Duchess.

Haha I'm sure she is.

Your opening post made me smile.
I find the whole saint Meghan, evil Royal Family narrative absurd but entertaining at the same time.

Maybe someone should do a musical on it.

Please don't give anyone any ideas!

Here you go:

I beg to differ. I happen to know for an absolute fact that the prince and princess of Wales have made at least one substantial cash donation to a charity local to them, but unlike some, don’t want it splashed all over the papers.

What a strange post, it reads like something written by a PR intern

Well if said intern was very young!

is it a wind up? seems like every now and then we get these. must be
meghans turn as last time it was a gushing one about Kate.

Well the question is whether its their personal money they earned as in not money from the taxpayer through the various means they get it.

He's still trying to understand that clip starting Peasant Society because it sure isn't English as we know it, Captain.

There's something so strange about the way people talk about Meghan and Harry. Either they're the devil incarnate x 2 or they're beyond mortal comprehension, they're so wonderful. Maybe they're just ordinary people trying to find a purpose in life and (sorry OP) failing because life doesn't really need two non-royal royals. People aren't even convinced the royals are necessary. Setting up a splinter group is ambitious, to say the least.
