No, I don't think she did.

Nothing's ever been confirmed. But the Gyles Brandreth account seems to be the one people mean when talking about the late Queen having cancer.

But he didn't say bone cancer, he said bone marrow cancer, and they're not remotely the same thing - bone marrow cancer is a type of blood cancer

Bone marrow cancer is myeloma.

At least Charles won't have to wait many months on the NHS.
Only the absolute best medical treatment for the Royals.

Or anyone else who can afford private healthcare!!

Didn’t Nostradamus predict this (and also predicted there will be King Harry)!

Oh ffs !!

ChewbaccasMrs · 06/02/2024 01:31

Poor man I hope they've caught it early, must be a very worrying time for the whole family bless them.

Oh come on, he’s over this way anyway for the envictous games so only making a short detour. He is a man of means so this isn’t a big deal to him. I also wonder if he wants to appear caring given the way most people think of him at the moment.

Most people? That is inaccurate. Get over yourself.

And I doubt Harry gives a single toss what most’ people think. He’s living the life he life he wants. The only opinions he cares about are the ones bankrolling his next venture. And I’m sure he is concerned about his father’s health.

Or anyone else who can afford private healthcare!!

There is a tiered system for private health insurance holders too. Don’t be fooled into thinking otherwise.

I had my baby privately. The consultant was well known, very charismatic, on the TWO occasions I saw him. For every other appointment I saw a member of his team.
During one of my visits while I was being seen by one of my Consultant’s team, I met him on the way out. He was busy chatting to one of his other patients, who happened to be a tv soap star.
I’m sure Charles will be seen personally by the top medics in their field.

Dying?! That's a bit of a leap.

We’re all dying…

Ramalangadingdong · 06/02/2024 02:05

After we paid out all that money for an ott coronation we might soon have to fork out for a lavish funeral AND another expensive coronation.

So what? That's what happens when state leaders die.

mayorofcasterbridge · 06/02/2024 01:00

I worry for you. Not really, but I would if I cared enough.

Right...does all this really really matter?
The RF are completely irrelevant to most people's lives other than for gossip. They're not role models, they don't set any standards of behaviour, they preside over a Commonwealth which is a hangover from a vicious and violent empire, cost millions, and while the late queen may once have been held up as a paragon of duty, many many people feel the monarchy should have ended with her.

Does the inauguration of a state leader usually involve more than £50 million?

Didn’t Nostradamus predict this (and also predicted there will be King Harry)!

For last year he predicted that we'd get to Mars, and that we'd be practising cannibalism. I don't think King Harry should be giving up the day job just yet.

I agree. He looked dreadful at the Coronation. I have my thoughts about this but to express them here would cause a riot.

Since when did any post on MN cause a riot?

The Invictus Games are happening in Germany in July.

But I agree that it would be silly to ready anything serious into his coming over. He might just want a reason to bury the hatchet, or it it might be that he wants to keep himself in the limelight. Who knows?

I'm glad Harry has flown straight over, sometimes it takes something like this to bring people back together.

I have every respect for the Royal family and hope King Charles makes a good recovery. I feel it's so sad though that the relationship between William and Harry has broken down, at least according to recent events. My issue with this is given their position in life they have a responsibility to set an example to families in general. All families have issues at one time or another. It's having the ability to put pride aside and regognise life is short. Falling out over trivial matters has no place in family life, especially Royal family life.

Wishing the deaths of 3 children is vomit inducing frankly. Perhaps not the end of your world, but your lack of human empathy speaks volumes.

Nobody wished death on anyone, you are actually losing the plot here. I have not seen a single poster say this. Why would anyone want any RF member to die especially children for that matter? I am just observing the posts you responded to but have a day off social media and look after yourself.

Looking at Harry I believe he would. His brother and wife however - I am not so sure. I wish them all well.

DBSFstupid · 05/02/2024 23:14

Explain.

He is 75, he looks more like 85. If he is having treatment, chemo / radiotherapy, I think he is too frail for that. I am very doubtful that the outcome will be positive. I also think if his disease isn't metastatic and if he is having curable treatment, they would not have said anything.

I think Nostradamus is as relevant as Paul the Octopus.

Exactly! Grin

I disagree that the source of the disagreement is ‘petty’. Harry publically betrayed his family, accused (or allowed/encouraged others, including his wife) to accuse his father and Kate of racism. In William’s shoes I would never trust him again.

He may be welcome at Charles’ bedside but I doubt the rest of the relatives will be keen to build bridges.

To be honest I think you're wrong . Putting them up there and desiring them to be an example actually in my opinion causes them great pain . A perfect example would be Charles marrying Diana instead of Camilla because she had been round the block a few times . They are human with human emotions not a Playmobil set . You really can not have that many family and expect perfection ..

Cosmiccrash485 · 06/02/2024 04:54

I am not a great royalist but I do wish Charles’s well. A cancer diagnosis is tough whoever you are.

This could all just be a series of unfortunate events but I’m afraid I partially agree with the pp that Willian’s complete absence is a little strange if everything is as fine as the Palace is saying, I don’t think it would be at all usual or necessary for him to make a separate statement about his father’s health though.

I could be entirely wrong but I can’t help thinking there’s something a bit odd about it all. I remember Camilla, who is rarely heard on camera, saying several times on the news before the Coronation that Charles was a very fit man. And this happened once or twice. And I remember thinking they were in danger of over-egging the pudding. But maybe she was just emphasising his suitability for the role of king?

However, whatever is happening, I do think this is the perfect moment to rehabilitate Harry and I’d be glad to see him back.
