Social media leaking news of POW hysterectomy

It goes without saying its only her business, however I found it odd that whilst 'doomscrolling' from sleeplessness I came across a couple of posts from US news sites claiming they had news obtained from 'Palace sources' posted onto SM.

We all know that KP is somewhat leaky but over something like this? (I suppose Maybe if the price was right?)
Or is it just speculation passed off as the truth?
Or, are US news sources avowed to publish info that uk ones aren't?

I'm not particularly interested in what she's had done, surgery is unpleasant, full stop, But I'm just wondering if there's a reason the story is in US but not uk news-if it even real ( which seems slightly unlikely I would think, but then you never know about anyone personal life).
Just found out odd and curious as to the whys

You're protesting about SM posts on this OP, yet you've started a thread here, detailing the supposed procedure on MN.🙄

The OP knew what they were doing. Posting in RF, pretending they haven’t a clue what happens in the world outside the UK news…urgh.

Pugdogmom · 20/01/2024 08:31

I wouldn't have noticed she was missing if there hadn't been a press release stating she was in hospital.
I know she's entitled to her privacy, but giving half a story just fuels people's curiosity 🙄

This has been discussed extensively on another thread. I had one of the most invasive hysterectomies and was only in for 4 nights post surgery. So I think it’s unlikely to be a hysterectomy unless it was advanced endo implicating the bowels… and I don’t see how it would have got to that stage with someone, who has access to top notch healthcare.

The thing is if she did had stage 4 endometriosis, it would have been a medical impossibility for her to have had three children. And while the recovery time following surgery is up to three months, she’d have needed only a night or two in hospital.

Believe me, I'm the last person to defend anything about the royals because I think we should do away with the whole institution. Actually that's probably why I see it the way I do and think the whole 'Oh but she's the future Queen so we need to know,' is a crock of shit.

It's her body - her body is not public property and she's entitled to privacy about it. We have moved on from the days when politicians attended royal births and Diana had to be checked to see if she was still a virgin.

It's a bulimia related stomach issue. I think they will have to operate to save her stomach as the lining has gone. Is my theory. Feel horrible typing that but its what the evidence points to.

Not horrible enough to not type it though. And type it as though it's a fact

Serenster · 20/01/2024 08:47

I find it hard to reconcile a view that KP is leaky when, as we we now know, the Princess of Wales has obviously been experiencing serious health problems. At some stage likely became acute, had to be assessed by specialists, have surgery be decided upon, enter hospital, have surgery….and only the day after all happened did anyone outside their inner circle have the faintest idea of any of it.

And back in the real world….

willWillSmithsmith · 20/01/2024 08:52

I wish her a speedy recovery but I don’t need to know the details, just like I don’t need to see pictures of H&M’s children. There are a lot of people out there (judging by SM) who seem to have this pathological need to know everything and feel hard done by if they’re not part of the loop.

Newchapterbeckons · 20/01/2024 08:50

And back in the real world….

If that was you in hospital, having major surgery, would you want everybody and their Jack Russel to discuss what you're having done?

There was a thread on here where a poster was unhappy that a relative spread the gossip about her miscarriage, and she was right to be upset, why the prurient interest in someone else's health?

LakeTiticaca · 20/01/2024 09:04

I did wonder if it was a hysterectomy. Abdominal surgery, lengthy recovery etc

Not that it's anyone else's business

RichardsGear · 20/01/2024 09:08

So what are you saying? This is how it is so they should just tell us?

I think that’s the reality of marrying into the RF. it’s not ideal, but the media interest is unlikely to stop anytime soon.

duckpancakes · 20/01/2024 09:10

We don't need to know what's wrong with her. Just when they are out of action so we don't worry about them and assume they've died.

GnomeDePlume · 20/01/2024 09:11

Whatever surgery or procedure any member of the RF has, they have to leave hospital under their own steam, wave to the press and thank the HCPs for their wonderful care. It's the rule.

No wonder they need an extra few days to recover to that stage.

The rest of us can be wheeled to the hospital door, flipped into a semi upright position then stagger to the family jalopy. No one will see us or comment.

Sometimes being a private individual is the more fortunate position.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 20/01/2024 09:12

People always say that to justify their behaviour.

Startingagainandagain · 20/01/2024 09:13

Honestly I think they brought this on themselves by being transparent about the king's procedure but withdrawing info about Kate's.

People were bound to speculate and jump to conclusions about her condition being something serious and discuss it widely.

The best thing would have been to either keep quiet about both or to share information equally.

Also I would find secrecy about a hysterectomy odd. This is a procedure that many women go through and there should be no stigma about it.

Why on earth are you on here posting then?

It might help if BP stopped the ridiculous speculation and announced what is going on. It’s only fuelling attention.
"

Why should they? It's private medical information. Would you appreciate it if your employer announced to the entire workforce the private reasons why you had time off work? Just because they are royal family doesn't mean the public are entitled to know all the intricate details.

I agree , to be so open about the King’s prostate of all things but to say nothing at all about Kate. It seems panicky and ill thought out.

TroysMammy · 20/01/2024 09:18

Doesn't that weasel Omid Scobie know?

Why bother to give so much information about the King then? Both are senior members of the RF.

what evidence?

She is slim that's all the evidence needed by some people

RichardsGear · 20/01/2024 09:23

It'll probably be in Harry's next book 😉.

Obviously Charles has consented to the information re his prostate issue being made public; the PoW wants her medical information to remain private and that should be respected.
