I think losingtheplot999 was making a broader point. Of course the PoW is entitled to keep her medical records private but part of the Faustian pact that the monarchy has made with the media, for the survival of the institution, is that it will share all the good bits of their lives with us: all the spectacular weddings, good news about births, engagements, important birthdays, passing out ceremonies, first days at school etc.
So once you have invited the media in to do that, because the public would not be remotely interested in monarchy if they celebrated all of their happy ceremonies such as weddings in private behind closed doors, is is also becomes incumbent upon them to share their funerals, divorces, employment failures, falling out, extra-marital relationships and medical problems too.
You can’t have one without the other and it’s naive in the extreme to think that you can.
Obviously, the PoW is entitled to keep as much medical information back as she wishes, but to expect the press and the public to avert their eyes and take no interest in her operation and the symptoms that led to it is wildly naieve.
I imagine this prurient interest in them is bordering on psychological torture for the PoW and other members of the RF and that is why we need a republic.
And that’s aside from the psychological cruelty of determining a 10 year old boy’s future without giving him any choice in the matter.
It should all he stopped and so should the public’s prurient interest in this family.
It should be noted too, that others like Chelsy Davy very sensibly opted not to be part of the circus.
