It goes without saying its only her business, however I found it odd that whilst 'doomscrolling' from sleeplessness I came across a couple of posts from US news sites claiming they had news obtained from 'Palace sources' posted onto SM.

We all know that KP is somewhat leaky but over something like this? (I suppose Maybe if the price was right?)
Or is it just speculation passed off as the truth?
Or, are US news sources avowed to publish info that uk ones aren't?

I'm not particularly interested in what she's had done, surgery is unpleasant, full stop, But I'm just wondering if there's a reason the story is in US but not uk news-if it even real ( which seems slightly unlikely I would think, but then you never know about anyone personal life).
Just found out odd and curious as to the whys

whoops sorry , I linked to a bio of the author of the article, not the article itself. I’ll try again.

I’m not concerned about The Sun’s credibility with this -as they were reporting an announcement from Kensington Palace. Although, as they paper that printed Clarkson’s hate piece masquerading as a journalistic endeavour, I can well understand people’s distrust when it comes to the Sun. And of course they criticised Meghan in their article - apparently she ‘snubbed’ the Queen’s doctors and chose her own team for the birth - horror of all horrors.

Kensington Palace announced today that the royal couple, who are expected to welcome their first child together this month, have made the 'personal decision' to avoid the public eye.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t immediately announce the birth of their baby to the public, Kensington Palace confirms

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry will keep the birth of their first born private until they have had an opportunity to celebrate as a family. Kensington Palace announced today that the royal couple, …

I think this is wrong.

The Palace might use all sorts of PR devices in its communications, but an outright lie won't be one of them.

And I don't see why there needs to be a different explanation to the one given - any doctor can come up with abdominal procedures that would typically take that long in convalescence.

Reasons may be given if/when she chooses to talk about it. And I sympathise completely with someone waiting until they are recovered before deciding what they are going to do.

I agree, especially given that she is in the London Clinic

SpringViolet · 23/01/2024 11:05

I would say it’s more likely to be a tummy tuck.

She’s had 3 DC, probably doesn’t want anymore and is naturally very slender so may have wanted rid of of any ‘overhang’. Could have been complications or advised to stay under observation as that can be quite risky surgery.

Probably doesn’t want it to be public knowledge as there will cries of the tax payer paying for cosmetic surgery for rich people in a cost of living crisis!

She looked very well in the pic taken on the Christmas Day walk so if it was bulimia related emergency surgery, I doubt she would have been there.

At the end of the day, she’s not heir to the throne and the public have no right to know intimate details of her medical information in the same way we have no right to know any other celebs private medical information.

MaturingCheeseball · 23/01/2024 11:25

Stupid rubbish @SpringViolet . The rf have plenty of time during their summer hols to have the odd bit of “planned” surgery. I very much doubt whether Kate would cancel on the Pope in order for her clothes to look better. Really, what mealy-mouthed piffle some posters spout.

carkerpartridge · 23/01/2024 12:07

I agree MaturingCheeseball I think it's highly unlikely that it's a cosmetic procedure (or the ill effects of one). If the POW was going to have something like that done surely it would be when there was plenty of free time and it could go unnoticed. I imagine she would have had engagements in the calendar from the start of January which she would have been intending to do if this issue hadn't cropped up. In any case I find it hard to believe that she would be having a tummy tuck.
I feel sorry for the children who must be missing her so much. George is getting near to starting secondary education which will probably be an anxious time for him.

Yeah I bet he's really concerned about getting the right grades to get a university place. 🙄 He could fail everything and still get accepted to do anything at any university.

carkerpartridge · 23/01/2024 12:39

ALonelyPerson I wasn't thinking about him worrying about getting the right grades, more that the transition between primary and secondary can be an unsettling time...Royals do have feelings as well as us mere subjects!!

Mylovelygreendress · 23/01/2024 13:18

@BrittleVeneers
You criticised me for quoting Twitter yet use The Sun as a source ??

So you think the only two options are a tummy tuck or bulimia? Okaaay….

good grief. the speculation on what might be wrong is so mean. she is obviously unwell, no one is hospital that long for shits and giggles. hope she is ok and people just leave her in peace.

whiteshutters · 23/01/2024 15:37

@BrittleVeneers no one cares about M and H first child's birth now - it was a while ago now and there have been so many horrors since then.

YogaLite · 23/01/2024 15:43

Maybe it was ectopic pregnancy?
Recovery times match 2 weeks + being careful for a lot longer. Plus there is an issue of getting over it.

Possibly for the shits - but who knows?

BeaRF75 · 23/01/2024 18:15

Just swerving off topic a bit, George won't be going to his public school until he's 13, so there's plenty of time. At least, I think we can safely assume that he won't be off to the local comp at age 11.

Kate is the royal person least likely to require a tummy tuck. And there are lots of slim royals!

I’m no royalist - I’d be fine without them - but the accusation that she’s taking months off work due to a cosmetic operation is egregious. I’d be quite pissed off with those rumours if I were her because they set her in a bad light. She already has a reputation for laziness which may be fair (I dunno, I pay no attention) but this gossip is definitely not fair.

Is it slanderous do you think? It is disgusting for sure

pilates · 23/01/2024 19:02

Yes, it is disgusting but I think it says more about the person posting such shit.

Newchapterbeckons · 23/01/2024 19:06

I am worried she is very ill.
