It’s the one year anniversary of the release of Spare, how are you all celebrating?!

In all seriousness, a year on what impact do you think the book has had on the Royal Family and the Sussexes?

In my opinion it clearly did very well commercially but in popular culture it became a bit of a joke. In terms of the RF I’m not sure it made much difference - to people who already didn’t like them it confirmed what they already believed, to people who did like them it was more evidence that Harry was no loss. I also think even a year later it has made reconciliation between William and Harry impossible.

Not with vilification I don't. There is a difference.

Can’t for the life of me understand what’s wrong with selling wedding photos to Hello 🤷🏾‍♀️ weddings are expensive. They’re not working members of the RF

It is correct to say we do not know how H&M feel - if they are hurt or not. They could be upset or be howling with laughter at the nonsense here.

I daresay though that we are also not privy to whether certain members of the royal family have a flying feck about Peter’s wedding photos. We simply do not know.

The odd thing is, Harry seems to understand that trauma changes memories, well, time and other influences change memories. And yet, doesn't seem able to reflect on whether his memories, including supposedly being constantly treated with less consideration as William, might be distorted...

Compare that to the amount written about them across all media and you have an interesting answer.

If you agree with a system of monarchy, and as such accept that there will be one person at the top of the pyramid/tree/society, then it is not a difficult to imagine that one person will be treated differently and better that everyone else.

There are any number of contradictions in Harry's position

I think it was Omid’s book revealing private correspondence between Meg and her father-in-law, amongst other things. Might be forgetting something though.

I suppose having friends share that they were never going to that wedding anyway was more recent.

Indeed @Ridemeginger , being active and in the public consciousness isn't wholly about public engagements.

I've read it. My view is that Harry ( or his writers) over dramatise. This is based on one small section about Harry’s service career and being posted to North Yorkshire.
He made it sound like he was being sent to the wilderness.

In real life, RAF Leeming is on the side of the A1 - the main motorway in the north. A really large base, 5 miles from one town, 10 miles from a larger town. Easy A1 access to Durham, Newcastle and Leeds (less than an hour in each direction). Hardly the wilderness!

If this small piece is so over dramatised and easy to correct factually. What else is factually incorrect and over dramatised

There are a couple of famous people I really don't like, I haven't got a clue what they're up to or doing because I avoid them in every way possible. It works!

This is provably untrue by spending 5 minutes on google.

Who cares, they are allowed to live and go about their lives doing what they want.

Yet those that despise them just follow what they're doing obsessively. I'm gobsmacked to be honest

And this is one of the stock tropes you trot out every time someone posts something true you don't like. I'm not obsessed. I'm accurate.
