Prince Andrew Was Lying (and Sweating) From The Start, Wasn't He?

So now we have it, the abject and in all likelihood criminal behaviour of Prince Andrew, still titled Duke of York and still eighth in the line of succession to the British throne, laid out for all to see.

Settled out of court as part of a grotesque cover-up.

Still denying knowing Virginia Giuffre, and presumably Johanna Sjoberg whose breast he allegedly fondled, who are undoubtedly the tip of the iceberg of the girls Prince Andrew and his paedo friend Jeffrey Epstein abused.

Still protected by Buckingham Palace who have gone out of their way to state the accusations as "categorically untrue", as if anyone believes them.

Still supported by the British Royal Family who seem desperate to "rehabilitate him" (and his grifter ex-wife), still living in a Royal Palace presumably at taxpayers expense (i.e. Grifter in Chief), still prancing around at official functions, still oozing a sense of arrogant entitlement, with no-one including King Charles having any sense of courage or moral rectitude to deliver to make him face the consequences of his repugnant actions.

Still being defended by the royal palaces briefing operations and the British media, and by those at ease with shameful double standards on various boards, including this one, who are happy spending their time posting 100'000+ messages a year attacking Meghan and Harry while turning a blind eye to a likely real criminal.

No amount of covering-up will ever rehabilitate Prince Andrew. All it'll do is drag the royal family further down in the esteem of folks with any sense of decency.

Yes it appears the Yorks are more than happy to take huge amounts of dosh and a diamond necklace from anyone, whatever their background and wherever the money comes from
Then it's oooops you've found me out, I'll pay it back pronto. It's happened time and time again with that family

derxa · 06/03/2024 11:47

Just a cursory google shows all the Yorks plus the hanger-on hubbies seem to be regulars at the Bahrain GP. Please do write a list of activities they are allowed to do

Alalain · 06/03/2024 12:11

Its stomach churning how they can take money, freebies and 'gifts' from other people for no other reason than being connected to the RF.

You're right.
It doesn't sit well with me and instantly makes me wonder what's being given in return for all these favours and gifts.

Mylovelygreendress · 06/03/2024 12:59

The Yorks are not the only ones who make good use of freebies !

Absolutely. Which is partly why Andrew is a disgraced member of the RF
It went on for decades and he was shielded by his Mother.

Please do write a list of activities they are allowed to do

They can do what they like as long as there is proper governance and accountability and what they do is not illegal.
Did the Yorks/Tindalls pay for the private jet that flew them back to the UK from Bahrain? Or did Christian Horner pay for it - given that Sarah Ferguson would appear to be a friend. It would be good to know that for example.

None of them are 'working' royals. You might disapprove of KH but he can fund transport for his friends if he likes.

There's lots of things I can think of which are stomach churning, accepting money and free gifts isn't one of them. When you're mixing with the super rich there's lots of free gifts and money giving going on not just where the royal family is concerned. That's just how it is. It's all about connections in those circles.

It's the same with lots of famous people, how many free gifts do you think the Beckhams are given for instance.

Having said that I do think the Royal family's advisers need to do a better job of vetting people otherwise it's not a good look for them to be associated with unsavoury characters.

Roussette · 06/03/2024 14:49

Is KH Christian Horner?

If so, it's not about liking him, it's about finding him to be yet another sleazy man

But every gift given to a member of the RF has to be carefully registered. They can't just take money and jewels willy nilly. Other rich people might, but they aren't members of the RF. The link below sets it out
Andrew was a working member of the RF at the same time as taking gifts and numerous backhanders

Look at where PA is now having accepted hospitality, money and freebies from anyone who was handing it out.

I wonder if that's why Sarah and Andrew never remarried because she could technically accept anything during the years he was a working royal as she was "separate" from him.

It think personal gifts under 150 pounds are allowed and don't have to be recorded if not part of an official tour.

thats interesting, I hadn't thought about that.

Accepting money and gifts has got Andrew into trouble with the wrong people. He thought it was honourable to visit someone after they were convicted of child sex crimes, since they had been friends... and that included money and gifts too right? I think it all depends on who you accept it from, why and how often.

Exactly that on the 150 but everything else having to be recorded
I don't think we know half of it and that's why Andrew's records as Trade Envoy have been sealed for 60 years

shockthemonkey · 06/03/2024 16:05

I suspect the sealing of those records is to protect more than just Andrew - the government use the royals like chess pieces in international diplomacy, wouldn't surprise me if there are a few foreign secretaries and ministers in charge of development who have encouraged some wheeling and dealing in backrooms across the globe.

I mean they've got Ian Botham as the current Australian trade envoy - how is he any way qualified for that?

Good sleuthing @CathyorClaire

And I believe Turk was the one who gave one of the daughters some hugely expensive diamond necklace. It might have been him or it might have been someone else but either way it was someone dodgy

That was Tarek Kaituni the Libyan drug smuggler Roussette, though frankly there doesn't seem a lot to choose between the various horrors Andrew befriends. Anyway it's all in the link below

Still, they've got money to splash - including on the daughters - and that's all Andrew seems to care about

Edited to add I had to smile about the need to register gifts though ... does anyone really imagine he'd apply that to himself if it didn't suit?

What have the Tindalls done wrong?

CathyorClaire · 06/03/2024 20:11

We know from the little that has come to light that the entitled oaf was more than capable of some off piste wheeling and dealing on his own account under the banner of 'trade envoy'.

Can't see putative bent former politicians having their reputations massaged by hiding what they've been up to until everyone interested is dead.

It's far more likely the records have been sealed to protect royal reputations.

CathyorClaire · 06/03/2024 20:22

What have the Tindalls done wrong?

Milked their connections until their hands fall off (including Peter Phillips in that one) lied about it in at least one instance, promoted a gambling firm (dubious ethics) and - in the case of the lechy Mike- got away with groping an ITV employee in full view of the IAC cameras.

I am however entertained by the sheer gall of the overpriced clay shooting initiative. Just hoping it doesn't divert trade from the much more sensibly priced alternative businesses offering the same.

CathyorClaire · 06/03/2024 20:29

Oh and forgot multi-millionaire-in-his-own-right Michael claiming furlough for his business.

TallerSally · 08/03/2024 10:23

Selman Turk, Jeffrey Epstein, Christian Horner... anywhere there's sleaze and money, there you will find the Royal arch-grifters, Andrew and Fergie.

From the Telegraph:

"SARAH, Duchess of York praised a "kind and supportive" banker who paid her family £1.4 million he allegedly stole from a Turkish heiress.
The letter from Sarah Ferguson to Selman Turk was revealed as he was found guilty of contempt of court for failing to provide details of a string of payments and was warned he is facing jail.
The Duke of York, 63, his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, 64, and their daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, received payments totalling £1.4 million out of the more than £40 million Turk is accused of stealing from Nebahat Evyap Isbilen.
In 2019, when the payments were made, the Duchess wrote to Turk telling him that she wished to "honour" him with a dinner at Royal Lodge, the home she shares with her ex-husband on the Windsor estate. The Yorks have agreed a private settlement with Mrs Isbilen, 77, which will keep them out of the complex legal case in which Turk and various offshore companies are being sued.
But High Court judge Sir Anthony Mann - who has never been shown the full settlement - said it "must be treated with caution" and noted "something odd was going on" with the payments.
Lawyers for Mrs Isbilen argue that some of the payments were "part of a scheme" between Tarek Kaituni, a convicted Libyan gun smuggler who had links to Colonel Gaddafi, and Turk "to get moneys to the Duke of York".
The nature of the relationship between the Duke and Duchess and Turk, or the reason he gave them money, remains unclear."

All this is for £1.4m which is small change in the world of the royals. So to see Andrew and Fergie hustling around for such a relatively small sum is even more unedifying, and suggests pure greed, especially when you consider that they spend their existence living off other people's money, including the UK taxpayer, and various unsavoury characters and dictators they've associated with over the years.

They are a national disgrace.
