George's exams

Kate is not going with william to Singapore as George has important exams. What exams would a 10 year old be sitting in November?
I know nothing about private school systems so hoping someone here does.

@Angrycat2768
"never having to worry about passing any exams,"
I like to think that P.William and Catherine would have instilled enough of a work ethic, for P. George to work and try hard for these exams.
Re Eton. Although P. Harry was allowed to go 30 years (approx) ago, this does not mean that those in charge would automatically allow P. George to attend if his results were really poor. I would like to think that times have moved forward since the days when royalty get to Eton and/ or Cambridge just because of who they are.
I should think appropriate security would also be important. There will be other aristocrats or wealthy young people attending Eton, so maybe he won't stand out as much.
Even if it is just a formality, I really hope that the Wales's are looking at other schools, so see which may be the most appropriate for P. George.

It's always been the case that aristo's etc went to Eton. It won't take the kids long to work out that their futures don't depend on them working that hard to pass exams. And William and Kate can't even instil a work ethic into themselves, never mind their kids!

Not a strange reaction at all. I would've not wanted my 10 year old front cover of a magazine whoever they were.

Fine if you sell pics to Hello like Mike & Zara of their firstborn. Well... not fine... but you know what I mean. That's a whole different argument.

No, my real objection is nothing to do with perceived promotion of royalty at all.
You obviously don't know me and what I've posted over years and years. I object to children being used for the purposes of promotion or PR, or in this case to sell magazines by Hello.

Edited

you then agree that H and M were wrong to use such intimate footage of their young children in their documentary? Or is that somehow different?

Howsimplywonderful · 10/10/2023 16:40

I find it hypocritical to give your children privacy but use other kids to flog your books

no-one wanted to address the issue of young vulnerable children signing NDA’s so their images could be used commercially to sell a book and potentially a documentary

Is is better if you’re wealthy enough not to use your own kids, but proxy ones ?

Sorry I don't understand that. Are there children who signed a NDA, can a minor do that?

I have said similar in the past and it would appear that was different( it’s the sainted duo isn’t it!?) . Apparently it was only a fleeting glimpse of family life !
Many people ( including me) were pretty shocked that they could sell footage of Archie in his bath for mega dollars.

I'm glad it isn't just me. Had a panic there that dementia was setting in and it was something obvious. At least I'm not alone.

I think it refers to Meghan reading the Bench to kids in a New York school

Ahh

but Kate for instance is often pictured with children

Iwasafool · 10/10/2023 17:15

Some how I expected something more exciting than that.

That's true particularly her own.

I've answered this till I'm blue in the face and really CBA to go there again.

I don’t follow these threads generally so maybe someone will say,

Daisyislazy · 10/10/2023 17:32

I wouldn't have my children's picture out there but it's up to the parents really

Iwantcakeeveryday · 10/10/2023 17:42

With their support, I've no doubt Charlotte & Louis will do very well academically too.

Not necessarily, its fine if they aren't academic anyway. They can still have loving supportive parents if they don't get top results at school, and they can still be intelligent and successful too :)

Iwantcakeeveryday · 10/10/2023 17:46

None of them can or should keep their children locked away from he world so nobody ever sees them, that would be no way to live. Being careful what you share and how often, is what some posters are suggesting. Its not an all or nothing choice. A few shared photos or images is not over- exposing your children. @Roussette and others here have spoken at length before about media focus on the children and their role in the invasion of all of the royal children's privacy.

EasternStandard · 10/10/2023 17:54

I’d say the royals and media have got to a better place with the odd Instagram post with Christmas card or birthday or whatever

Harry has obviously gone down a different path with Netflix and book

Samcro · 10/10/2023 17:12

Never as an advert for a book she has written, and is selling for personal profit, though.

Howsimplywonderful · 10/10/2023 18:06

@Samcro

Meghan used a school to do a reading of the bench to publicise her book. They wanted to beef it up so decided to rename it ‘supporting community arts’ or something like that 🤣The FOI requested emails show they wanted to the school to get the young kids to sign NDA’s and sign away rights so they could use the footage in any future endeavours (like a Netflix doc?)

This was a commercial endeavour to sell books,
disguised as something else.

if you want to flog a book to generate profits for your private coffers, pimp out your own kids, rather than other peoples ?

Perhaps read the link above.

royalwatchewr · 10/10/2023 18:11

Did Meghan receive the profits from the sales of her book though? For some reason I thought it was for charity

I don’t follow these threads generally so maybe someone will say,

Basically - W and C posting photos of their DC, talking about them or including them in an official event is terrible parenting.
H and M using their DC to make Netflix money - so cute and wonderful parenting.
