One again, William's neglecting women's football. The Lionesses made history. It is the first time that the English team (male or female) reached the World Cup final since 1966. We all know that if the men had reached the final, he would've been there and probably would've brought George with him.

Queen Letizia and her daughter Sofia will be attending. What's William's excuse? You are président of the Football Association.

This is really disappointing but I'm not really surprised. The young generation of royals are such a joke compared to previous generations. Yes, the Queen’s children had their controversies but when it comes to royal work, they always got the job done.

Prince William will not attend World Cup final to watch Lionesses

Prince William will be watching England's first final since 1966 on the television and will not fly to Australia to see the Lionesses compete, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

There really is nothing to debate re the football.
Willy showed himself up badly and the flurry of intense PR that they no doubt will plan will not work.
Not on the media savvy young anyway

standing down as President of the FA would work .

@MrsMaxDeWinter

No you haven’t understood bots .
It don’t people with similar views ( though it can be )
The clumsy hurried panicked version is EXACTLY the same wording cut and pasted into ‘different ‘ ( ie newly minted) usernames

I’m not talking about mumsnet .
Though yes I’ve long suspected certain groups do attempt to act in unison here .

What groups? Can you copy and post what you mean?

Did you see him at The Euros, not good enough?

Why must he go to Australia it's hardly a quick jaunt is it.

Roussette · 24/08/2023 10:12

As I say, if it's evolving into the usual let's bash H&M thread, cos we're bored, I'll dip out.

I bring Andrew up when it is relevant.

MrsFiddle · 24/08/2023 10:12

I think it is very relevant that H's travelling is referred to in a thread where the Prince of Wales' travels or lack of is being talked about.

Exactly. But it is 'bashing' poor Harold.

MrsFiddle · 24/08/2023 10:13

The Prince of Wales has I assume quite a bit more on his daily agenda than H with his few charity involvements that are left.

Totally irrelevant given he isn't a working member of the RF and not taxpayer funded.
In my opinion.

We are talking on here about the President of the Football Association and heir to the throne.

Not a couple who live thousands of miles away and pay for themselves.

Roussette · 24/08/2023 10:15

Rightio!

I can see the way this thread is going.

MrsFiddle · 24/08/2023 10:15

@Roussetteas you say it's your opinion but others feel differently.

It's not 'my opinion' that he is not a working member of the RF and funds himself.

That is fact.

Janiie · 24/08/2023 10:16

'We are talking on here about the President of the Football Association and heir to the throne.'

Honestly it was a football match in Australia. So. What.

Janiie · 24/08/2023 10:17

'It's not 'my opinion' that he is not a working member of the RF and funds himself.'

By cashing in on gossip about the RF. Very noble. Not.

You misread my comment - it is your opinion that it is not relevant.

Funny I can say the same about newly minted posters bashing William and Kate and praising Meghan and harry, in poorly written broken English. Would you then agree that bots are used by both the Wales and the Sussexes?

This wont make Harry more popular unfortunately. Will there be cries of outrage when William starts to get good press again? 😂😂

The Prince of Wales has I assume quite a bit more on his daily agenda than H with his few charity involvements that are left.

The whole sorry mess highlighted that Willy has v little to do and the media - royalist and otherwise - called him lazy.

Hence the panicked response as once the whole media is united on an issue the ‘royals’ are stuffed .

Harry is not taking money from the tax payer . That he continues with his charities is admirable .
Hes a private citizen
How many charities are you involved with ?

It's football, it's not going to make or break the monarchy.

You don’t know your history

It is exactly the little things that turn out to be decisive

Yes because ignoring the cries of outrage from the likes of piers Morgan equals ‘panicked’ response. Yep, sure.

As for harry not taking money from tax payers, him suing the government for security is costing tax payers thousands so not sure what you mean by that.

Novella4 · 24/08/2023 10:29

@MamoruHisaishi

Are you in the Uk ?

How could you miss the response to Willys laziness ?
It wasn’t Morgan. It was across the board .

Okay Novella, I will leave you to your fantasy that this ‘football’ controversy will lead to the downfall of William and the monarchy. I guess since the cheating, racism, and pegging rumours didn't work, this is at least ‘something’.
