Omid Scobie writing tell all book

1000 replies

CosmosQueen · 29/06/2023 07:23

The biographer of the Duke and Duchess of Sussexwarned that his next book will reveal moments that the Royal family should be “ashamed of”.
Omid Scobie claimed he was one of few journalists writing about the Royal family whose work was impartial and “spin-free”

As such, he said his forthcoming book, provocatively titled Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, would focus on the negative as much as the positive and would shine a light on “unsolved mysteries”
“Endgame not only looks at the successes of our Royal family but also the failures; the things to be proud of and those they should be ashamed of,” he wrote in the I newspaper

Just when will this end? I feel so sorry for their poor children who will have to live with the knowledge that their parents and his obnoxious individual were prepared to do anything to make money.

@oldblighty27 Not to mention the £30 odd million it cost the taxpayers. I agree a whole stack of lies to create a victim narrative Yet there was no need for any of it. People were understanding of their wish to leave the RF. it's not many peoples idea of a nice life despite the perceived glamour. Harry always wanted out so all this talk of hitting the ground running was nonsense.

They could have left with everyone s blessing and understanding Why they had to create and embellish this victim narrative is anyones guess. Probably because they couldn't do the half in half out nonsense.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/07/2023 14:13

Also the fact that it was proved they lied a total of seventeen times in the OW interview. When I heard Meghan say that they were already married prior to the televised ceremony, I felt like it was such a kick in the teeth to the British people who supported her wholeheartedly and welcomed her. And for her to gleefully laugh that it was all a charade and they'd somehow fooled us. Really happy the Archbishop told the truth following the interview! Either Meghan was grossly mistaken, or it was an outright lie.

How many times do we have to go back over old nonsense? It was a private ceremony and a special moment for them. Its nothing to do with you. Plenty of people never get legally married and have their own 'wedding' ritual and its special to them. Its such weird entitlement and ownership of them to think you are owed anything! The British people did not wholeheartedly welcome her, that's so demonstrably false- even on this board you can see it. Its all such BS.

costacoughee · 12/07/2023 14:51

The British people did generally speaking welcome Meghan. A few odd people no, but the majority and the press did. What you see on these boards is the result of three years of them attacking the country and our royal family.

There really is no need to take it so personally. No one is attacking them. They are just pointing out inconsistencies in their story.

LadyMuckingabout · 12/07/2023 14:52

You bang the same old drum, @Iwantcakeeveryday . Ok, so they had a little private moment - but why say on Oprah that they were already married, and make the “spectacle” comment? And as for the confiscating of the passport - baloney!

costacoughee · 12/07/2023 14:54

It's not nonsense to say Meghan said their real marriage was before the ceremony and imply it was a chore they had to perform as part of their institutional duties and something done reluctantly. Surely such a clever woman knows the difference between a marriage and a blessing?

costacoughee · 12/07/2023 14:56

For someone forced to perform a spectacle for others she looked very happy and revelling in the attention 🤷🏻‍♀️

LadyMuckingabout · 12/07/2023 14:58

That Oprah interview was of course a play for the hearts of the US. It had to have the victim narrative and once things are said - even if they are exaggerations or even lies - they are out there. Of course as time has gone on much of what they’ve said has turned out to be crap or questionable.

Samcro · 12/07/2023 15:13

is the book out?

Mackerson · 12/07/2023 15:27

It really is not that easy to seek help when you are struggling and being in such a prominent position, as for Meghan.

Harry was in a prominent position and he managed to do it. In fact didn't she stipulate that Harry had to get help or she wouldn't marry him. So she obviously didn't think being in a prominent position made it difficult to get help.

If she thought it was cool for Harry to see a therapist, when she started to struggle, why didn't she recognise that she could use Harry's therapist as a starting point for her own mental health struggles? Why wouldn't she have asked him to book her an appointment too? It doesn't make sense to me?

Having seen a few therapists myself, it's really not that difficult.

tigger2022 · 12/07/2023 15:44

Is going to HR to ask for counselling normal in the US?

Mackerson · 12/07/2023 15:47

I agree it's a private exchange of vows. I guess people can do their own private wedding rituals if they want. But neither of these cases constitute getting married. Certainly neither the law nor HMRC would consider them as a form of marriage. Lol.

But she knew that. Personally I don't think it's a big issue either way to be honest. But it just illustrates that when she speaks, she does so in fanciful terms rather than factual ones. (Which, as I remember it, the journalist from The Cut referred to.) She emphasised with 'no one knows that' as if the exchange of vows was somehow significant to the rest of the world - when it wasn't. But after she said that, suddenly it was significant, which I guess was her intention. And that kind of fanciful talk sort of undermines the credibility of what she says as a whole.

LaMarschallin · 12/07/2023 15:47

Like Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall in Bali

Annalisea · 12/07/2023 10:44

She’s a grown woman. She could have called a therapist anytime herself. It’s not the job of a spouse to find help.

While that may be true I know for a fact that my H would help in an instant with anything voiced like that.

and didn't that go well ....

DollyTheFluffyOne · 12/07/2023 16:01

Iwantcakeeveryday · 12/07/2023 11:43

yes, I agree. This 'she's a grown woman' comment is so so damaging and harmful. Lots of grown adults struggle with health issues like this and its not ok to shame them for it. I know my husband didn't know what to do for me either at first, its something we had to learn about and it took time.

No one here is shaming her mental health but they are querying why Harry didn't get her help.

Because he is self-absorbed, useless and it wouldn’t have occurred to him.

That's not the point that people are making and yes this has been discussed before. Some people see it as sweet and romantic but it certainly was not a legal ceremony. Married in their minds maybe but not legally.

DollyTheFluffyOne · 12/07/2023 16:10

I think that the South African tour was seen as especially pathetic when M started with the

“thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay"

The tour wasn't about her - it just shows how far removed her idea was of service for the monarchy.

I’m sure Harry didn’t go through HR himself. It’s a nonsense.

I could say the same to almost every poster who criticises them, its the same.thing.every.day. The same complaints, claims and criticisms. Every day, all day. Round and round and round. So don;t come to me with that, everyone here does it.

It's because there's nothing new to criticise and people have to feed their desire to knock the couple.

DollyTheFluffyOne · 12/07/2023 16:32

Lies remain lies however old they are. They build a picture. They destroy or make reputations.

user01082312345 · 12/07/2023 16:37

Tbf, Meghan and Harry bleat on about the same old thing. How badly they were treated by the RF etc. And that's literally all they've pretty much done since beginning their new life in the States. Harry even has another book coming out about it. Everyone has to deal with personal drama within their families, but you don't have to air your dirty laundry in public. I really felt for the Queen having to deal with Meghan and Harry's threats and tell-all interviews in her final months of life. It's very telling by the way in which Meghan treated her staff and spoke to those she deemed beneath her just what kind of a person she really is. Even the Queen had to reprimand her for speaking rudely to a member of staff. And yet according to Meghan and Harry's version of events, they've always been the victims and everyone else is lying/has a vendetta against them. I would really love the ex employees of the Sussex's household to come forward and give their own interviews about what life was like working for H&M. It's a shame they signed NDAs!
