The sudden unusual turn on Princess Kate

Today, I wanted to share something thought-provoking that has caught my attention recently - a noticeable change in the way the media portrays Kate Middleton.

Some publications that previously showed favor towards Kate (DM cough, cough) have started publishing stories that present her in a more critical light. It's an interesting shift.

Firstly, there's a story circulating about an encounter between Kate and a convicted murderer at a charity event. Additionally, there's talk of the taxpayer potentially providing support for her family's struggling business. This raises questions about the circumstances surrounding their business venture and the implications it may have for public funds.

What's intriguing is the parallel being drawn between Kate's current media treatment and the scrutiny faced by Meghan Markle in the past. It's worth discussing whether there's a connection or simply a coincidence.

Furthermore, there's some buzz on Twitter suggesting that Kate may have unintentionally upstaged the King during the Chelsea Flower Show. While it may seem like harmless gossip, it's interesting to consider the impact of such events on the monarchy's reputation. Some even speculate that Camilla might have been involved in the leak of these stories, adding an extra layer to the intrigue.

Taking a step back, it's worth pondering whether the monarchy should be concerned about being upstaged in this day and age. Are we witnessing a shift in priorities and expectations?

Not sure the royal collection would be safer in the peoples hands , judging by the news that thousands of items have been stolen and sold from the museum!

Kate and William happily contributed to press stories slating Meghan when she was popular. This isn't opinion, it's fact. William's press officer changed residence to Fleet Street for a period so they could be constantly involved in feeding back stories, as did Camilla's PO. Journalists have gone on record to state this.

What they failed to realise is that now Meghan has gone quiet, the press will be braying for a new person to hate & slate.

I doubt very much it will take long for the two remaining parties to turn on each other.

Where did you learn this and what makes you believe it’s the truth?

I find this hard to believe. It would be self defeating surely.
What publication made this statement? What journalists have "gone on record"?

pilates · 26/08/2023 14:05

I presume you can back this wild accusation with evidence @StaunchMomma

Can you link to the on the record statements of these journalists please.

Also where Williams PR moved to Fleet Street.

Yep.

So much better to do these things on the down low and hope the plebs don't notice.

If anything I believe it's the other way around. There was a US based gossip columnist who revealed in a recent conversation with another gossip columnist in the US (deuxmoi) that he never used to get royal gossip from the UK until Meghan came into the picture. Also, there was a blind that came out from a Canadian gossip columnist who used to hang out with Meghan about a Royal (Kate) who didnt want to share a ride in a car with Meghan even though they were heading in the same direction. Not to mention, the only ones who have directly shared petty stories like Kate not looking happy to share lipgloss or the bridesmaid dresses all came from harry himself. They're the ones who have been revealing stories about personal info that should have been no one else’s business.

Serenster · 27/08/2023 08:56

Yes, MamoruHisaichi. Don’t forget that Harry also is the only royal family member proven to have encouraged passing information onto a journalist via a staff member because he and Meghan had “to be able to say they had nothing to do with it”.

You know it’s possible to disagree without resorting to being aggressive?

Ah the pattern has revealed itself .

Novella4 · 27/08/2023 10:18

Ok@Ivyusername

I maintain that anyone who thinks the ‘royals’ don’t have all have a staff whose entire occupation is feeding stories to the press , is extremely naive .

Even wilfully obtuse.

William briefs against Harry and Charles.
Camilla beats them all at their own game

That is why I was laughing . Not at the secretary who may well have been blamed for an innocent mistake .
One tiny incident ( Willy meeting Camilla and it being revealed to the press…) among very many attempt at manipulating the populace
Who reads tabloids ??
Who is actually influenced ?
the elderly it seems to me . And yes , the naive ( that’s code for something else )

pilates · 27/08/2023 10:20

So Novella do you think H &M fed stories to the press too?

Novella4 · 27/08/2023 10:53

Oh hi @pilates , right on cue .

Well I have heard that Harry is suing a group of tabloids …
Have you heard about that ?

I have also heard that Wiliam accepted a large amount of money from said tabloids and doesn’t seem to be suing them .

pilates · 27/08/2023 11:03

👋🏻 Just asking a simple question

Serenster · 27/08/2023 11:15

I have also heard that Wiliam accepted a large amount of money from said tabloids and doesn’t seem to be suing them .

Yes - because that’s exactly the way a settlement of a claim works. The defendant assesses the strength of the claim against it along with the likely costs and reputational downsides (and other relevant considerations) of defending it. If the balance is tilted in favour of the downside, they offer the claimant a settlement sum. In return for which the claimant gives up their claim.

If Harry had been more organised and done this as William did, he wouldn’t have been out of time in his phone hacking claim against the Sun.

Novella4 · 27/08/2023 11:19

Of course .
Its absolutely fine

Serenster · 27/08/2023 11:23

Yes, it is. 😀
