M&H Missing From Coronation Portraits

tigger2022 · 08/05/2023 21:46

Ok I’ll preface this by admitting I’m not the biggest fan of Meghan or Harry BUT…

I did find them missing from the coronation group portrait a little sad. Those portraits are historical artefacts that will be referenced in the history books for centuries and I really think if they’d turned up they would’ve been invited to be in them, working royals or not. He’s the son of the king. It’s like they erased themselves from history.

(Andrew… I don’t feel sorry for at all. His mug was not missed 😂)

Same with the group portrait with all the little kiddies and HMQ before she died. That opportunity is not coming back 😭

Does anyone else think that they’re mainly responsible for their own undoing but also feel a bit sorry for them when they see things like this? What a mess to untangle.

I think Charles would’ve wanted them in the photos if they’d been there, working or not. Not on the balcony or any official capacity, but at the end of the day H is his son and I think he’d want him in the photos.

Why do you think you know what Charles thinks? Are you one of those people who constantly spouts Diana thoughts on FB?

EllandRd · 08/05/2023 22:12

They reap what they sow, can't wait for the scales to peel off his eyes, and for the lightbulb to come on. He really has been played.

I think fathers generally tend to love their sons, controversial I know

Of course it would have been possible to be 'half in'.

Just live in America if that's what they want but don't slag your dad, his wife and your brother off in print and on TV for ten million dollars or whatever it was,

Whenharrymetsmelly · 08/05/2023 22:15

Of course it's sad, it's always sad when families fall apart

RoseBucket · 08/05/2023 22:17

You are getting some nasty replies, for the children of M&H I agree it’s sad they are not in the official photos with granny, they’ve had no say in it and it might be something they look back on with sadness. Take aside royal duty and stripping it back to family it is a shame, I’m currently reading his book, not far enough in it to form an opinion yet but there is certainly a lot of anger in it.

I think he learned very quickly that his unqualified and unhelpful ponderings on mental health are not actually very monetisable, what people want is royal gossip so rather than go back to pa with his tail between his legs or live a less than princely lifestyle, he’s reverse-concocted some justifications for selling tabloid fodder on his family

thing is they aren't really a family in the normal sense of the word. It's more accurate to think of them as a corporation. Did you cry when Debenhams went bust? Exactly.

Just what I was going to say. It's a huge shame that they can't all just put pride aside and make up. It's such a poor example to set your children, plus the children are missing out on part of family life.

LIZS · 08/05/2023 22:18

Fgs they are not working Royals, by choice, neither was Prince Andrew included. The photo included the same RF adults as on the balcony.

Yeah from a purely human perspective it’s really sad when you see these happy family photos and they’re not in them. It feels like they’ve dug such a massive hole for themselves and there’s no way out.

They are not a family as you understand it. They probably do not care. Honestly, it's like a fish trying to understand the life experience of an elephant. Any experience you have of family is completely different to their understanding and experience of family. It's not like their parents (even saint Diana) made them dinner and watched noel's house party with them in the evening. It's like a company/ dynasty. Different T&C. Don't worry about them because honestly, they're sure as hell not worrying about you.

But they're not working as members of the royal family. What do you expect? I wonder if my old boss would accept me turning up at my old job, and ask to be part of the team line up?

They're out. Their decision.

More nit picking

Completely agree with this. Harry and Meghan actively chose to leave the Royal family and forge a new life in America. As has been said, Harry couldn't get away quick enough after the Coronation. They're not in the Coronation pictures because they chose to not be in the Coronation pictures. Megzy couldn't even be fucked to turn up.

Just like Edward VIII, (who abdicated after having an affair with a married woman,) Harry turned his back on the Royal family and fucked off out of the country ... So it is perfectly acceptable that he is no longer at Royal events. OR in the photos. Harry and Meghan chose this. Nobody told them to go.

Harry probably had to rush back to America to work out who he wants to sue next - and slag off next.

I don't see any nasty replies. Just honest ones. And if Megz and Harry don't have many pics with granny or Camilla and Charles at the Coronation, that is their OWN FAULT.

This. The photo only includes the working Royals. Harry is not one by choice. Andrew had his royal responsibilities taken away.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra are in the photo because they carry out royal duties, as do William and Kate, Anne, Edward and Sophie.

He tried to get as much from his father as he could. Charles wouldn’t give it to him.

According to him, but he also maintains he was forced to live in a hovel, which everyone else recognises as a 3 bed house in absolute prime central London, so who knows what to think? He's such a fuckwit.

QueenOfHiraeth · 08/05/2023 22:42

Charles might feel sad but Harry & Meghan, in choosing not to come over as a family, have made a very clear statement.

The birthday is, in my opinion a pale excuse as most 4 year olds do not understand if their party is on their birthday itself or on a different day, many times it is different as parties are usually at weekends anyway.

I suspect, in years to come, Archie and Lilibet may also feel sad that their parents chose to miss such a big part of history which, even though they are too small to attend themselves, they could have been around

CrapBucket · 08/05/2023 22:44

It’s probably a bit shit having your job and your family all tangled up together all your life. Like being expected to take on the family farm.

Of course they are all loaded which probably helps all round though.

(I reckon I’d swap watching Noels House Party with annoying brothers for a million quid or so)

Viviennemary · 08/05/2023 22:45

I am glad they weren't there after their appalling behaviour.

If Meghan and Harry are good parents, their children will be completely on their side. They won’t be sad at all.

Yeah especially missing the chance to be photographed with QEII, especially that lovely photo with loads of her great grandchildren plus Louise/James. The York grandbabies weren’t in there but there must be other photos. I wonder if there are any photos with QE2 and Lilibet at all or if worries about them surfacing on Netflix were so great they didn’t take any. In 20 years time the young ones might wonder what it was all about that could have been so important, “err what was that thing about flower girl dresses again…”

Oh yeah. Not to derail the thread but I’ve been there. Keep work/family separate that’s my advice 😬 I don’t think that’s actually what H&M have done though, their careers are still completely tied with each other and also still with the RF tho now in an adversarial way.
