The lack of enthusiasm for the Coronation

I know this is shallow but I think part of the reason why people aren't enthusiastic about Charles’ coronation is that neither he nor Camilla have movie star good looks plus they're both in their 70s. I bet if both were in their 30s or even 40s, and Charles looked like Pierce Brosnan and Camilla looked like Angelina Jolie, they would have the world fawning over them and their Coronation.

We're up to about 5 repeating this now. If we get to my prediction of 20, I will treat myself to an extra bottle glass of vino tonight

I’m very angry about this. What the hell has the country become when fellow citizens can be bundled into police vans for peacefully holding banners and not supporting the parasitic monarchy. These will be the photos that people remember from today.

Totally agree puzzled.

Looking at facts, like the Norman Baker book, or the excellent 'Cost of the Monarchy' articles in the Guardian would be far far too uncomfortable for some.

What is worse is.... they hadn't even got the placards out the back of the van! They had turned up to a designated place, agreed with the Police weeks in advance, only to be arrested for absolutely nothing.

The actions of the police and the disgusting extravagance of the monarchy on display today are both excellent recruiting tactic for Republic. I didn’t feel strongly enough to join them before, but I damn well will now.

Nothing to do with age. But in less than 20 years when it's Will and Kate people will be far more engaged with it.

Charles is following Elizabeth The Great and people don't forget scandals like the Diana one because your birth right allows you a crown.

I like the RF and am loving the pomp and ceremony. I'm 36 and we are having my mum over and doing brunch today as part of her birthday weekend. 🎂

People have a right not to be enthused about it. I can enjoy it but still want Elizabeth back or Will and Kate on the throne instead.

Watching this show on TV and truly there are not very many crowds. However over at Trafalgar Square … #NotMyKing in abundance despite being arrested and stopped for peaceful protests. The handcuff is on a Just Stop Oil protestor.

Apparently protestors trying to join the rest at Trafalgar Square have been blocked in side streets

They are in yellow and holding up signs

So they erected things in front of the designated area so Charles & Camilla don’t have to see them.

One estimate is 2000 protestors.
