Coronation Concert?

Does anyone know who will be performing at the concert?

I'm worried now. My cousin has been invited for her charity work and has had emails going backwards and forwards since last week with her accessibility needs. Hopefully those not in the ballot have seats reserved somewhere.

My mum is really upset. She had the email but was not quick enough to get a seat.

I think it was very poorly managed. The original information said it wasn’t on first come first served basis and todays email said we had until 27th to claim but neither were true ☹️

I was upset. Never have seen email while I was at work. So excited when I got home and then nada. Really badly managed. To be fair, tha eacts look awful and I will watch it to see the royals.

I hadn't seen anything publicly about the previous draws so assumed this was the first one. Can't believe they said congratulations etc.

Also 'claim YOUR tickets' not 'a pair of tickets'

To be fair I went tonto for the jubilee last year and went and did everything. I see this a bit like a wedding. I'll give it the day but the bank holiday is for me.

So, now DD & I aren't on the guest list for the Windsor Castle concert, does anybody know how long the coronation might go on for?

I'll be staying close enough in Westminster to hear the guns go off when the King is crowned, but I do fancy being able to board a train out of London shortly afterwards (unless there are any fireworks planned)?

It would be kind of fitting too. Not because of the whole Queen/royalty connection, but because Brian May has been sporting that Charles II hairdo for about 50 years now.

If they had any sense they would stick a screen up somewhere and make a spillover place for the almost rans. But they won't do that because they frankly don't care about the plebs and the grateful ones that got them with be doubly excited about the exclusivity of the event and provide good camera fodder.

I came to the same conclusion. I bloody hate Ticketmaster. Far too much of a coincidence that me and my sister got that same email today.

If it chucks down with rain then you can feel quietly satisfied that you dodged a bullet a bit like Gary Barlow's tax dodging and Prince Andrew's justice and light a candle to Princess Diana who in heaven will be managing the downpour.

Very poor PR on their part, IMHO. Even if people got tickets it gives them very little time to organise public transport (on a Sunday). Reading the small print there is going to be no seating and refreshments must be purchased on site. I agree that there was probably a very limited number of tickets for the great unwashed. Not a great way to treat your people. Hotel cancelled and I'll potter in the garden instead.

Many people who want to go this will be older and can't just stand for hours.

How can this all be so badly managed?

Does anyone who does have a ticket know what the deal is for transport and parking? We have been assured that "there will be assistance in getting from the parking to the castle". Public transport isn't an option.

I got the email, starting with 'Congratulations'. Bloody pissed off that I spent 15 minutes trying to get into the queue, and before I could all the tickets had gone. Poor performance Ticketmaster!

When it was the Golden Jubilee concerts at Buckingham Palace the attendees were given a picnic and it all sounded much more civilised.

To those moaning you do realise you are pleb cannon fodder who should be grateful for the crumbs off their table when they celebrate their good fortune of conning the people once more in the style they are accustomed to. If they stopped living high off the hog with public funds they would disappear into well deserved obscurity.

@vera99 That is your opinion. I disagree. No-one is making me do anything that I choose not to do. I don't consider myself a pleb, and nor would I be ignorant enough to throw that at someone else. I am strong and successful enough to ignore nasty comments from people who should know better.

Dictionary definition of the word pleb: an ordinary person, especially one from the lower social classes. Well I am pretty ordinary, not sure about my class but if wanting to see Take That for free makes me a pleb then so be it.
