Was there anything Kate didn't excel at?

Having read many articles Kate (pippa & James also) is so accomplished since she was tiny.
She is very sporty.. strong swimmer, excellent skier, hockey player, lacrosse, athletics, netball.. Plays piano very well & also was lead in schools drama production. Excelled at art.
It seems the Middleton's didn't do much in the way of equistrian sports?
Would love my dc to be as accomplished & well rounded. Can't afford Marlborough or any private for that matter!

The difference between her and Kate is that she's not a doormat

the difference is that Meghan wanted to be the star of the show - she saw the crowds and assumed they were there for her personally.

VixenTodd · 17/03/2023 20:09

She was only here five minutes. She did that American 'crack your whip and snap your fingers' and bullied staff but where's the evidence of hard work in the circular? She wrote an intro for a book that was getting published anyway (yes, that's correct). Posing for photos? She loved that bit, no disagreement.

Plus various other things like tours - say what you like many people turned out purely to see her, especially the younger generation.

The Palace hid their investigation into bullying. Wonder why? Probably because they did not find any evidence.

But whatever – this is a Kate thread and of course it gets turned into a Meghan bashing one 🙄

Kate seems nice enough and suited to her 'job'. I couldn't get too excited about her though.

What does that work out to per hour for all the money she had spent on her by the RF including the £31m wedding? Kate is looking like much better value and she has THREE kids oh, oh

Kate is obviously very good at it, Meghan wasn't. I think Sussex fans need to get over that one, really.
Both of them were keen to meet and marry princes. It was certainly no accident in either case. Neither of those marriages would have happened if they were exactly the same guys working at Homebase.

In fairness Kate knows that being opinionated as a royal is not part of the job description. Kate keeps her opinions well & truely to herself as royals are supposed to be politically neutral.
Meghan couldn't keep her trap shut with her fucking opinions which makes her entirely unsuitable for a royal role.

@VixenTodd Oh are you seriously going there :D It's a lot of work for less than 2 years!

Let's talk about Kate's value for money then - in 10 years she had 3 kids - with lots of servants and help on hand, plus 4-5 houses to spread out in. Must be tough.

She's done very little actual work as a Royal! I can't think of much in particular - there was that half-hearted mental health thingy which seems to have been forgotten about - and what happened with her Early Years project, her supposed 'life's work'? It seems to have died as well, for the third time?! She has no passion for work - and we the taxpayers are paying for her upkeep.

She's not called Duchess Doolittle for nothing. Her and Willy are laughing, and we're paying for it.

Kate also had a Royal wedding by the way - how much did that cost the country? And how much has she paid that back in work by the hour? Or did it not occur to you to question something like that until Meghan came along?

By the way Meghan bought her own clothes with her own credit card, including, it is rumoured, her own wedding dress.

JuliesBicycle · 17/03/2023 21:11

Charles did not get that memo then that Royals should not have public opinions. He has been very opinionated. Or is it only the women who are not supposed to have opinions?

JuliesBicycle · 17/03/2023 21:14

@michaelmacrae The Royal Family never pay for the Bride's wedding dress unless she is born a Royal. Meghan paid for her own, Kate's parents paid for hers.

michaelmacrae · 17/03/2023 21:33

Meghan couldn't keep her trap shut with her fucking opinions which makes her entirely unsuitable for a royal role.

Only where Meghan's concerned do royalists see an independent, self-made woman with her own money and OPINIONS as a bad thing! In this day and age!

JuliesBicycle · 17/03/2023 21:40

Charles has been very outspoken. But his opinionated self is fine because he is a white man.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 17/03/2023 21:48

Don't think anyone is being bitchy just saying it as they see it. All this fawning over Kate is laughable. She is an average looking woman who was average in education and has never worked. If you aspire to marry a rich partner then she is someone to look up to. If she hadn't married into the royal family then no one would give her a second look.

I think that post is pretty much the epitome of bitchiness.

The truth hurts 😂

It is true that if Kate had not married William none of us would ever have heard of her.

It is true that you have absolutely no idea whether that is true or otherwise.

Samcro · 17/03/2023 22:07

It’s interesting that, I wonder if she had not married William, would she had married someone famous?

BansheeofInisherin · 17/03/2023 22:10

I think she would have run an art gallery and probably been good at it.

JuliesBicycle · 17/03/2023 22:10

@Coxspurplepippin How would she have become known? Unless she married someone else famous.

She is attractive, got a good education and is sporty, but I know various women like that. They are nice women, but no one except friends and family know who they are. Kate was a part-time buyer at Jigsaw. She was entry level but could have worked up and earned a decent wage. But again there are lots of women doing similar level jobs.

She has zero experience in running an art gallery. Why do you think she would be good at it? You know it is about selling and retail, not knowledge of art history.

BansheeofInisherin · 17/03/2023 22:13

And networking. Which helps the selling.

I am no fan of either Kate or Meghan, as you will see from my previous posts. Marrying well is not an attribute I admire.

Samcro · 17/03/2023 22:14

I’m sorry I just can’t see her as a career woman.
but it’s hard to visualise anyone leading a different life.

Ricco12 · 17/03/2023 22:15

It's a shame they didn't teach her how to gain employment in a real job.

Whatever you think of her Meghan had a career. She was in her late 30s when she got with Harry

michaelmacrae · 17/03/2023 22:19

She would have been just like Pippa - married rich and have kids.

She's not likeable (according to William's friends... maybe she was just shy?), and is/was lazy (noted by the queen). Her cousin said she's not bothered in things that don't have anything immediately to do with her. She doesn't research her causes or her visits. She doesn't practise speaking because she can't be bothered (it's not lack of time or resources).

And you know all this because… ?

I am not a royalist, but no need to make up shite about this woman either.
