I really really like her!! She's so respectful, humble, funny, chill and genuinely lovely! No drama, no backstabbing, no dissing the royals or even Harry. What a thoroughly nice person!

If Harry had stuck with her and she had stuck with him, they would likely have been a fantastic duo and I fully expect Harry would have turned out far more normal, down to Earth and waaaaaaay less wokey/therapy-speak/narcissistic & self absorbed etc.. (though might not have had such a positive impact on Sasha!)

Sasha, u r awesome!

I think no one is served by talking about this woman in a derogatory way and we should avoid doing it.

And no one is served by this woman calling Meghan a downgrade and a gold-digger, either. That's not derogatory at all ... Hmm

Its a good thing she didn’t call her a gold digger and the downgrade was said in jest - watch the comment, she’s self depreciating and not meaning it seriously. She simply told her side of the story (she felt she had to - we may or may not agree) but it’s now out there and should settle down for her soon.

adrianmolesmole · 13/02/2023 16:14

True, Piers called her the gold-digger, but she agreed. He throws out lines as 'bait' and people either fall for it or are smart enough not to. And she did, which reveals what she really thinks anyway. The downgrade comment appears to be a joke but again she fell for Piers' bait. True words said in jest and all that. By the way putting down others is not what self-deprecating means.

AliceOlive · 13/02/2023 16:39

I decided to watch the interview based on the last two comments. I am only a few minutes in. She looks like a deer in headlights, and if she is on the verge of crying at any moment. Harry's description of her and the event, made it sound as if some creepy old horsey woman who took advantage of his youth. In fact, that was exactly what I originally thought. It's just effing unfair given the true story here. Son of next in line to the throne, buying rounds of shots.

I think she should never have been placed in this situation and whatever she says should be viewed through the lens of a woman that would have continued to remain silent the rest of her life if not thrown into it.

I will finish watching, but based on this and the extreme power differential between them today, it's really wretched that she has been put through this by Harry. Feminist indeed. He is nothing of the sort.

Coxspurplepippin · 13/02/2023 16:45

'By the way putting down others is not what self-deprecating means.'

No it isn't, but Sasha is very self deprecating and it's obvious from the interview that the god digger and downgrade comments are meant with humour and self deprecation. She seems like a genuinely nice woman who is dealing with the publicity with grace.

Plitvice · 13/02/2023 16:46

What are the chances that he even paid for the shots? She is not media trained, she never asked for this which is quite endearing in a world full of hungry z listers who have been practicing their breakthrough TV interviews in front of the mirror every night for decades.
She would laugh along at bad jokes out of sheer discomfort and nervousness.

Is this cognitive dissonance in action, because that makes no sense.

Coxspurplepippin · 13/02/2023 17:32

Eh? Have you watched the interview? She quite obviously doesn't think Harry has downgraded or married a gold digger - that comment was a play on words - he's moved from digger driver to gold digger ha ha. She was practically rolling her eyes at the thought, and yes, self deprecating as if in 'yeah, sure, he's downgraded 🙄' kind of way.

AliceOlive · 13/02/2023 17:34

I think you are grasping at a way to criticize a woman thrown into the spotlight against her wishes. She laughed at PB saying he moved from a digger to a gold digger. She didn't say anything other than t kind of roll her eyes, laugh and say "you could say that" to what was clearly a joke/play on words.

After watching the interview and reading the endless glowing youtube comments about her, I think that it's more obvious why some H&M supporters here really don't like her. She kind, honest and down to earth. She hardly even complained about the situation she was put into, despite having every reason to be very angry. She's no victim.

She has a positive view of KC and PW, which alone explains why the rude comments above were made about her. (That's one of the simpler "transitory hate" rules - if you like KC or PW, then H&M supporters must hate you.)

I also think there is some jealousy for someone that was truly a friend of Harry long ago.

I wrote the exact same thing before even reading your comment.

Samcro · 13/02/2023 17:43

I haven’t watched the interview. I don’t watch anything with piers in it.
i don’t dislike her, why would I.
i have posted on this thread as the op Made comments along the lines of how good it would have been if they had stayed together. So I googled the name and saw a blonde!!!

adrianmolesmole · 13/02/2023 18:27

Tbh I did feel sorry for her at first, the media stalked her and presented her with no option but to come out, which is a sh!tty situation to be in. And such blackmailing tactics should be illegal, I think. But hey ho, that's the press we have unfortunately.

But going on Piers morgan is a big red flag, we all know his views. And then laughing along with his mean 'jokes'. A truly nice, kind, self-deprecating person wouldn't do that. I've lost respect for her after that.

And no, I haven't watched the entire interview, just parts of it. And I'm certainly not going to, I cannot stomach an entire hour of that disgusting, sweaty creep! 💩

Coxspurplepippin · 13/02/2023 18:47

Have you lost respect for Harry too, after the many interviews he's given? The fact that his book set the press after Sasha who was just living her life? If she'd wanted fame for her role in Harry's life she could have gone to the press 20 years ago. Instead, she's a footnote in a one sided memoir and has had to put up with the tabloids tracking g her down. Yeah, she really deserves your lack of respect Hmm

She was described by others as a grifter, and other ugly terms, right on this thread and also on another still running. Those posters do seem to hate her. I cannot work out why and I don't think it is at all rational. She's lovely.

I understand your sentiments about Piers and I avoid him since he lived in US. But I am glad to have watched this. She was a breath of fresh air in this whole mess.

How about signing a deal with Netflix while they were doing a hatchet job on his entire family, including the Grandmother he claimed to protect?

I so agree with you AliceOlive. Harry is no feminist, this is what he says about the journalist Rebekah Brooks in his book "Loathsome toad, I gathered. Everyone who knew her was in full agreement that she was an infected pustule on the arse of humanity, plus a s**t excuse for a journalist."

mathanxiety · 13/02/2023 19:22

Rebekah Brooks of the phone hacking scandal involving Millie Dowler?

He was too nice about her. She is everything he said she is, and more.

Have you forgotten Millie Dowler? Have you forgotten what her family went through thanks to that so called journalist?

For someone who definitely isn't a gold-digger, Meghan is spending a lot of time with old man Getty. He makes Harry look like a pauper - but of course, she would still have married H even if he hadn't been a (fairly) rich Prince,,,,

Is no one allowed to have an alternative opinion on this board? Hmm I've seen you jump down people's throats all over this place. Anyone who slightly disagrees with you. Honestly.

I very much have respect for Harry because he has stood up strongly for his wife - in the face of his family, the institution, the media and the entire country. To me that's courageous and amazing, and something I would never have expected from the usually dull and staid royals. And that's why I have a lot of time for him.

As for his book I have no idea why he included some of the things he did, I'm thinking his intentions are to make it completely 'warts and all', everything from his mouth and not the media's, perhaps? I don't agree with everything in it or claim to understand all the whys.. But at least everything in it comes of his own mouth, with his picture and name on the cover, not hiding away, which is far braver than sneakily letting your thoughts out through "palace sources etc", which is what the others do.

Is that opinion allowed?

Some women deserve to be called "an infected pustule on the arse of humanity". The fact that she's a woman has nothing to do with it. She's a terrible human being.

Oh really? He was too afraid to say anything strong like that about Piers Morgan? But, of course, their double standards are forgiven by their diehard fans. Neither of those two are good representatives for feminism - the guy or the "guy's girl" 😉

There appears to be one person who's jumping down people's throats.......

You can have whatever opinion you like. As can everyone else. If you publish your opinion people may have a view. And state it.

Or Clarkson, for that matter.

Given that Harry's book published January 2023, had already gone to print by the time Clarkson published his vile diatribe in December 2022, is it your argument that Harry should have cancelled the entire print run of his book in all 17 languages just so that he could add an update also calling Clarkson a pustule on the arse of humanity?

Who mentioned his book? He commented on it and gave several interviews during that time. He was very hesitant to strike back, that is obvious.
