Totally and utterly this👏

Totally agree. I think she comes across as a really nice, decent woman too.

Bugeyedowl · 05/02/2023 18:19

She could have denied it all. Deny, deny, deny. There's no pictures of them actually shagging are there. The British media are to blame if they've been hounding her or blackmailing her somehow. funny how no one blames the media.

Do you accept though that she would not have had to “deny deny deny” if Harry hadn’t put the account in the book in the first place?

She would never have come to the attention of the media, if the heroic anti tabloid campaigner hadn't chosen to talk about her in his book.

This 'story' is two decades old after all. What changed in the past few weeks?

Why should she lie? They obviously knew it was her and other people knew what happened how would lying have helped?

Also as much as I dislike the media sometimes let's not pretend this is their fault. Harry shared half a story, they obviously wanted to finish it which he knew full well they would when he wrote about it so let's not get distracted the fault lies squarely here with Harry and his big mouth.

SoTedious · 05/02/2023 18:27

Poor Harry - all he's done is write about someone else's sex life in a book (without notification, much less permission) and then done a load of promotional interviews, how was he to know there would be media interest?

Typical of the bloody British tabloid press to read the book he has been promoting, what arseholes they are.

Or Harry should have kept his mouth shut in the first place. But Blame the woman not the male that told the story in the first place. Nice lot of victim blaming.

crapcrapcrapcrapcrap · 05/02/2023 18:30

@smilesy harry didn't mention a name. There were plenty of girls hanging around him at the time as we can see. It was not particularly outing, if anything he made it seem different to the reality by saying "older woman". It would have been more obvious if he said it was a teenage friend from the stable. Again, she outed herself 😂

Harrys allowed write about his experiences in his own MEMOIR, ffs. That's what people do in memoirs.

daisychain01 · 05/02/2023 18:31

I absolutely agree with you @ilovepuppies2019 Harry well and truly threw her under the bus, without a care in the world. As normal it's all about him, zero awareness that others might be impacted by his actions.

This. Even if the press had not found out who she is, what right does Harry have to put this episode in his book and violate her privacy? I can’t believe posters are unable to understand that this is not acceptable and is particularly ironic coming from someone who values their own privacy.

daisychain01 · 05/02/2023 18:34

It makes me wonder what Meghan thinks about her husband discussing his sex life on the world stage.

She's either cringingly embarrassed, quietly seething despite it enabling the Sussexes to rake in the £000's (so possibly prepared to put up with the temporary discomfort). Or a combination.

Why are you so keen to defend him? People knew what happened just because he didn't use her age, name and other identifying information doesn't mean he didn't give enough key points away for people to connect the dots.

Yes of course he can write about what he likes but if you choose to disclose when you lost your virginity and turn it into some sort of juicy Tom com novel nonsense then of course people are going to try and find out more. He might not be the brightest human on the planet but he isn't so stupid as to think people won't try and find out who he sagged in a field.

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2023 18:36

You would hope that people would be truthful in their MEMOIR too though.

Why should she have to deny Her Truth? It is at least as good as Harry's ( if not considerably better, it certainly comes over as more authentic)?

Some people on here prepared to attack a woman who stayed discreet for 2+ decades just to defend someone who has definitely not.

SoTedious · 05/02/2023 18:37

Imagine if one of his ex-partners wrote their memoir and included having sex with him, not naming him, but using a description that the papers quickly figured out. And called it humiliating. Would that be ok, those who are defending him?

ArcaneWireless · 05/02/2023 18:39

Meghan is conspicuous by her absence given that he pops up like a Jack in the box all over her endeavours.

And I for one don’t blame her. She must have cringed (or fumed) herself inside out.

Plitvice · 05/02/2023 18:40

He knew she was vulnerable after breaking up from her boyfriend, got her pissed, shagged her and ghosted her like her feelings never mattered even as a friend let alone anything else. Her feelings still don't matter at all which is why he never even bothered to check it was ok to put it in the book. He is a vile creature.

KrasiTime · 05/02/2023 18:41

As an example turn it around, and say it was one of Meghan’s ex partners writing about her in such a derogatory way; most people would be disgusted by the male’s behaviour. We wouldn’t blame MM for it.

So why on Earth is this woman being blamed for something that Harry himself put in the spotlight? The whataboutery is frankly disturbing.

If someone commits a crime, and the police have enough details to identify them, does it matter that they don’t have a name to start with? They will soon find out who it is. It’s called detective work and the press are good at it too, strangely. And as many pp have said, it’s likely she very sensibly jumped before she was pushed. But of course it’s ok for Harry to put someone who is relatively easy to identify in his book without her permission in your world isn’t it? Much like his comments about the Ludgrove matron are ok. Not sure what your stupid laughing emoji is for either

Since apparently she was in fact outed, then it would seem that the description was indeed outing.

And yes, Harry is 'allowed' to write about his experiences, or rather his often dubious accounts of said experiences. But by the same token, those who get dragged into this without their permission, and without even the courtesy of an advance warning, are also 'allowed' to put their side of the story across.

How can you possibly argue otherwise?

CurrentHun · 05/02/2023 19:33

Considering Harry got her pissed, ghosted her then wrote about it in his book without warning I’d have been a lot less nice than she is about this crap drunken shag.
But she sounds like she’s a very nice person so it’s just lucky him that she didn’t say anything horrible about him in print.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 05/02/2023 19:37

No one forced Harry to include losing his virginity in the book that was purely for titillation to boost sales - very cynical and without a care for this lady’s feelings.

The description of the encounter was despicable and derogatory towards her
He is the definition of a misogynistic, arrogant, greedy, hypocrite.

Plitvice · 05/02/2023 19:52

He did it to boost sales. Sex sells and all that. For me personally, disloyal, thick men with ginger pubes and endless plummy whining are big turnoffs but for some reason, he thought it would be a winner.

Well he was right, to be fair...it got headlines.
