What job should Harry have?

BradfordGirl · 11/01/2023 15:01

Harry's family security reportedly costs £3 million a year. So I just wonder all those saying he should earn his money by getting a job - what kind of job do you think he should get?

I think he needs a job to massage his ego
Its a shame he couldn’t apply himself to rise in the Army ranks

I thought the issue was they didn’t want him on front line at the time - he was next in line after PW.. They made an exception for that campaign and he had very limited time on front line. The they was as much the army -if word had got out he was fighting the enemy would have targeted him specifically and put his comrades at an even higher risk. Same with prince andrew during Falklands- one off kept relatively quiet till fighting was done
so he was never going to get that front line fighting experience needed to rise through officer rank under his own talents. Best he could do would be to take that ceremonial role that other royals do and he did before QE2 took them off him and prince Andrew.

Blood princesses Beatrice and Eugenie manage fine with jobs and no royal security.

@Orangefir they have security....

Not provided by the MET

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 19:50

@Orangefir I didn't say it was....they have security though.

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 19:52

Really? They never seem to be in photos. Strange that.
This is outside the gallery where she works

What job should Harry have?
NoFlashingLightsPlease · 11/01/2023 19:55

Haven’t rtft, for which I apologise. But I think he is exactly the kind of friendly-but-don’t-cross-me Tarquinius (or Wolf) who would turn up if you’d hired a marquee.

Or maybe does the delivery of kit for his sister’s cooking business (does lunches for production companies, Private Eye, etc).

So not specialised or clever, but mucks in.
Then gets fed up after a month or two and moves on to something else.

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 19:56

It's unusual for papers to print the celeb/royal pics with security in the shot...

the security was tax paying funded at a considerable cost till Charles stopped it & now they pay it themselves.

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 19:59

plus she probably doesn't need much walking from the art gallery to her car/driver.

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 20:00

No they never print celebs/royals with security. Most unusual

What job should Harry have?
Happygirl79 · 11/01/2023 20:01

Professional whinger..

.Oh sorry he's already doing that job!

Come on, even you don’t believe the stuff you write 😂

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 20:04

@Orangefir I said it's unusual. Think of all the pap shots in papers of celebs, the security generally isn't in the shot.

icanneverthinkofnc · 11/01/2023 20:05

For men with his qualifications and qualities, his local tesco or asda may be recruiting. He may need to rethink the mansion, etc though. His investment portfolio will give him enough for a more comfortable lifestyle than his colleagues.

You've lost me now, something tells me this is a common theme in your life though!

@Orangefir I didn't say it was....they have security though.

How do you know?

Not that it really matters if they're paying for it themselves, but most people probably wouldn't recognise Bea or Eug if they bumped into them on the street. Hard to see the need for personal security guards, but obviously I don't know their risk level.

toomuchlaundry · 11/01/2023 20:07

Surely as he said in his latest interview that he wants to help reduce veteran suicide he could work in that field, or was that just something he made up so he could blame the media

Ill put together the thread of your thinking:

I say they have no security
you say they do
I say isn’t is strange they are never pictured with her - with pic sans security
you say that celebs/royal don’t get pictured with their security ….and then try and make out that it’s a short joinery so doesn’t need much security from door to car 😂
Except this is exactly where if you had paid security, they would be at their most useful.

So you are making things up as you go along in the vain attempt in proving me wrong. But it didn’t work

Im glad I could explain this to you

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 20:10

@IcedPurple I'm sure I read it somewhere or heard it on lbc. How do you know they don't have it?

In any case it would be odd to go from 24 hour police protection to nothing.

He'll have helped on that front by highlighting and increasing the risk they and their families face.

How do I know they don't have it? I don't.

But I never made a claim that they do have it. You did, but now you just 'read it somewhere'?

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 20:13

@Orangefir You seem to be struggling with comprehension.

It's not uncommon for security to not be photographed with a celeb despite being there, you can disagree of course.

I would say there is less risk walking a short trip from a gallery that may have its own security or be locked (again not uncommon in London) to a driver as opposed to getting a 45 min bus & tube journey. Again you can disagree.

Why do you think they don't ever have security?

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 20:17

Well most information is read from somewhere, I I admit she hasn't personally told me.

Yes, the papers could be making it up.

So if she has paid security but they don’t accompany her when she is travelling to and from work. What exactly do they do?

DancingLeaves · 11/01/2023 20:22

@milti Shit stirrer

I was going to suggest stable hand at a top flight racing stables, because he likes throwing high-class $h!£ around - but you sort-of beat me to it.....

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 20:23

@Orangefir why are you asking me?
