What job should Harry have?

Harry's family security reportedly costs £3 million a year. So I just wonder all those saying he should earn his money by getting a job - what kind of job do you think he should get?

OP posts:

Harry already has several 'jobs'.

Aside from Co-Head of Archewell, millions in book deals, Netflix, Spotify, investing money on an ethical fund, raising funds for Sentebale and Invictus etc. he is also working at a couple of Silicon Valley companies.

A rather strange question to ask from a busy couple.

Harry should be a boilermaker's nut polisher and Wills should be his mate.

Netflix should then film that.

Princess Anne is funded by the Royal Family.

She gets funding for her public engagements via the sovereign grant but otherwise makes a living through her farm and equestrian events on her estate.

She manages without security, except when on duty. But then she has never opened her mouth to say something stupid or controversial.

And she doesn't see m to need a yearly $100k budget for her wardrobe...😁

Cannabis farmer

Redblanky · 11/01/2023 19:18

If he genuinely wanted a quiet life does he even need to work? He had substantial inheritances from his mother and the Queen Mother. Possibly also others on his mother's side and his wife was a high earner before her marriage. Presumably she could return to that if she wanted to.

She has also been the victim of a kidnap attempt.

Well exactly. It's hilarious that people se to expect him to get a very standard job. Like they'd be applying for opportunities in payroll if they had access to the above.

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 19:24

@Unloved21

Yeh didn’t she respond to the kidnapper telling her at gun point to come with him ‘not bloody likely’

brilliant!

not a standard job, no. But literally anything that doesn’t involve just using his family name to garner interest in order to shred his family.

ArnoldBee · 11/01/2023 19:28

To be fair he is more closely related to Barbara Cartland than Henry VI :-)

most of those opportunities don't involve that though.

He’d be great at making compost cos he comes up with so much shit

Loudhousefun · 11/01/2023 19:34

Youth worker, I think he comes across as warm and empathetic with a good sense of humour

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 19:36

Blood princesses Beatrice and Eugenie manage fine with jobs and no royal security.

He didn’t need to work with the millions he inherited. If he lived a quiet life in the US, he wouldn't have a large security bill either but Yesterdays luxuries become todays necessities and he sees having security as a form of status.

The Japanese princess who moved to NY after marrying a ‘commoner’ lives a very quiet life.

@Orangefir they have security....

PuttingDownRoots · 11/01/2023 19:39

Expanding on his work for the Invictus games... he probably could have set up an outward bound sort of place on one of the Royal estates specifically for disabled people.

Or been a fundraiser for a military charity.

Maybe not big earners, but respectful uses of his time.

confusedcentral5 · 11/01/2023 19:40

As to the OP whatever he likes, his choice 🤷🏻‍♀️

2bazookas · 11/01/2023 19:43

When William and Kate were first married, they lived in a modest rented house on Anglesey (Wales) where he worked as a search and rescue helicopter pilot for RAF Valley. When he left the RAF he retrained and worked as a civilian Air Ambulance pilot in Cambridgeshire.

MintJulia · 11/01/2023 19:44

Gentleman farmer seems the obvious choice. The family could easily find him an estate to run. He'd have his privacy and his children would grow up in an idyllic environment.
