The royal family

Congratulations to Prince Harry

Harry is the first Senior Royal to leave the family and make his own living. Edward had to receive a stipend for his lifetime. Edward tried to make his own living and had to crawl back to the family after his production company failed. Harry is the only one who has managed to leave and make his own living.

So congratulations Harry and well done on showing everyone that you can make it on your own.

I actually think BradfordGirl is actually on a wind up. Who on earth would, in all honesty, be thinking that right now?

Some of these ‘We ❤️ you Harry (not Styles!) posts are quite amusing.

StormzyinaTCup · 11/01/2023 14:32

Don't worry, I will send him a link.

Could you also send him a link to the Meme thread, it’s a corker!😁

7Worfs · 11/01/2023 14:34

what has 'Archewell Productions' come up with

Say what you want about H&M but their patenting and companies’ registrations are designed for maximum Royal brand milking and minimum taxes; even if they haven’t done anything else. Grin

Refreshmentsanyone · 11/01/2023 14:34

A living?
He was already richer than most so he could probably live on the millions in the bank if he wanted to. I don’t think they were earned by his wages in the army though.
Trading off your reputation entirely based on your family isn’t really making it on your own IMO.

Haydugi · 11/01/2023 14:36

Does selling your family count as “making it on your own”?

😂😂😂

Christmascarolina · 11/01/2023 14:40

Congratulations to Harry on behaving in the most non-regal venal spiteful hypocritical way possible…and still apparently managing to have the odd supporter.

Aposterhasnoname · 11/01/2023 14:41

Prince Edward fronted his production company for 11 years before becoming a full time royal. Harry’s been out for three years so it’s a bit early to say he’s done what Edward couldn’t don’t you think?

I guess he's earned money, whether he needs congratulating is another thing.

... earned as in accumulated/amassed, right? Not as in "worked hard to deserve".

Octopusmittens · 11/01/2023 14:47

Badbadbunny · 11/01/2023 14:11

He's only "making it on his own" by publicly whingeing about the RF, so in a way, he's still dependant on them and making money off their backs.

This

Tamarindtree · 11/01/2023 14:49

When did his daddy stop giving him money? Can’t be that long ago.

Bluekerfuffle · 11/01/2023 14:54

Yeah, really honourable way to make a living.

milveycrohn · 11/01/2023 14:57

It is a pity he did not have a proper career apart from the military. He should have been trained for something, apart from being a member of the RF.
I guess though, that just in case the 'Spare' is ever required (George V and George VI were both 'Spares'), then any career should be fairly uncontroversial.
So, although he has generated an independent career, it is still off the back of the RF, and they are both clinging to their titles.
I would have thought better if his career was completely independent, and he had decided to call himself Harry Windsor (or Harry Mountbatten, or whatever).

BradfordGirl · 11/01/2023 14:57

@Tamarindtree Early 2020.

Not that I'm wishing them to fail but it's still early days.

We don't know for how long this will last...but for the sake of their children, I hope they can continue to be free and rich but not at the expense of anyone in the way they're doing now. I also hope they can finally be on good terms with their family.

Swissmountains · 11/01/2023 15:02

Ha ha!

Surely tongue in cheek.

Congratulations Harry. The whole world now knows about your psychopathic tendencies and narcissism, it is just as well you aren't aware of other people's hurt and pain as it might be disturbing otherwise! Onwards and upwards and all that 🙄

Yes because his family are going to be really excited by the prospect of a faux reconciliation and to feature again in volume 101. Falling over themselves to put their kids on the firing line again....

Shampern · 11/01/2023 15:07

That's so funny! Harry has made his fortune from writing a book when he hasn't even got English A Level, let alone a degree.
But then to be fair, that's why celebrities employ ghost writers.

Well I hope something changes and it turns out well in the end for all of them. Some families have fallen out over much worse and for decades too, but reconciled at some point and lived happily ever after.

I wouldn't wish a family to be forever enemies unless they wish it on themselves and/or there's been unrepentant toxicity and abuse. People can genuinely change and it's not up to me to decide what they should or shouldn't forgive.

HaroldsHorseyLady · 11/01/2023 15:12

I read somewhere that when they first got together MM had been worth 5m and PH 20m (his mum’s inheritance).

What an amazing life people can have with 20m...but that’s not enough for some.

MrsMiddleMother · 11/01/2023 15:12

I agree op, he's released a book about his life his Life so obviously its going to include his family and friends in it. Good for him for creating something and earning the money he needs himself.

Deadringer · 11/01/2023 15:14

Making it on his own yeah right 😂

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 11/01/2023 15:14

Yes I agree. Harry is setting a wonderful example of how to make your way in the world using hard work, integrity, skills and great interpersonal relationships to stand on one's own two feet.

And not at all acting like a desperate Z list Sleb selling every detail to the highest bidder.

He's truly an inspiration to our children.

Confused

@Tamarindtree Early 2020.

KC gave them £4.5 million from April to June 2020… Three months. More money than most have for a lifetime of work. They could have chosen to live quietly.

Tripofalifetime343 · 11/01/2023 15:19

I agree op!

It takes bravery to leave a toxic situation. People are often tethered in place by finances so he has done well to strike out in his own.

And now he has his life story written down in his own words I hope he can move on and really immerse himself in a couple of causes that help him to feel fulfilled.
