His publisher has confirmed he's sold 400,000 copies across all formats in ONE DAY. That's probably a record breaking amount for a memoir.

Do we think it was Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream? They should use that in their advertising.

Hey! Maybe they can make a few more mil with a 'celebrity' endorsement deal?

Advert could be a 'macho' shot of Harry with the 'product' saying "Men, I use Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, so should you. It's tops for your todger". They could even have a 'closer' of Meghan saying "Ladies, buy it for your man, but you can use it too" with a sly wink.

The regal Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, good enough for The Royal Member.

Yes I can see it on the buses now!

I honestly am happy for Harry. I am glad he’s going to have money.

Sexism - the idea that Meghan give up her career and have no expectations marrying a Prince is sexist & racist. She had a nice life, she sacrificed and worked hard, she was giving to the royals & her privacy and name and freedom all traded. Of course she wanted perks and comfort and financial security and a nice life similar if not better to her own in Canada.

The idea she be humble and be happy with a little cottage and give up her career and private for true love and prove her humility & meekness is sexist . That you have one daughter in law that is English born and white and living in a 20 bedroom apartment while the other has to go through some hazing period of living in a frat house because they all have to is bazaar.

There are lots of wealthy people in the world including his own family.

Harry Has sacrificed privacy for his whole life.

The expectation the live in a modest home in La on a suburban street, or even in nice area wouldn’t work.

The idea they just have ordinary jobs, not need security or continue to live in the UK & go to the local village corner store - none of that is realistic.

It’s also probably not what they want after years of building careers & philanthropy on their profiles and having ambitions.

This idea you’re a gold digger to want something for your sacrifice/efforts is fairly backward.

the whole meek, mild Disney princess 👸 happy to just make love to her prince in a barn and give birth to babies with the worlds press taking photos of her moments after birth..…

its all so sexist

Are you referring to Frogmore Cottage when you talk about little cottage/frat house/a barn?!

'Fans' Grin

Be a bit like if Trump wrote his grubby memoirs revealing lots of sensitive and private information about others, that'd be a best seller too.

Harold the tabloid reporter. He must be very proud of himself.

Coxspurplepippin · 11/01/2023 19:42

'Sexism - the idea that Meghan give up her career and have no expectations marrying a Prince is sexist & racist.'

Meghan didn't have to give up her career - she chose to.

ThighMistress · 11/01/2023 19:43

Why buy two? That is desperate fandom.

Maireas · 11/01/2023 19:44

The late Queen must have been more of a feminist then - she made it clear that Meghan could continue with her career if she wanted to.
Mind you, she also offered them a quiet wedding and a low key start to royal life.

BradfordGirl · 11/01/2023 19:45

The Queen wanted Meghan to continue working as she did not want to fund Harry and Meghan.

Noonesperfect · 11/01/2023 19:47

I thought the book was supposed to be only £8 with a Clubcard at Tesco, but on Tesco's website it says £14. Does anyone know if the £8 offer was only on yesterday? Or only available in store?

Maireas · 11/01/2023 19:47

The Queen didn't need to fund Harry and Meghan.
Charles did.

BradfordGirl · 11/01/2023 19:45

No, the pair were offered the opportunity to have a bit of time to settle into married life, Meghan to continue acting if she wanted, Harry to work out what he wanted to do. Nothing to do with paying for them or otherwise (and they were funded out of the Duchy anyway.

Surely, the MIL has cashed in more than enough by now.

The Queen was such a visionary. She got the "recollections may vary" and 'he's too much in love' spot on. She quashed the false narrative about 'being trapped' and 'escaping for their lives' before anything had properly unfolded. Her attitude was spot on as well: go out, earn your own money etc

Coxspurplepippin · 11/01/2023 20:08

notanotheroneagain, someone advertising a profitable business they've successfully created and grown over decades....... My god, wotever next? You've obviously been trawling the internet for muck. The only ref to the 'landrover deal' is a Daily Mail article ten years old. How come no-one believes the DM when they're dishing the dirt on Harry and Meghan, but everyone else is fair game?

You appear to be getting a bit desperate.

notanotheroneagain · 11/01/2023 20:21

Your question should be 'why is everyone believing what is written about H&M, but not about everyone else'.

This is not a lie.

We have seen that what is reported about H&M have been lies, however.

NameChangeGin · 11/01/2023 20:22

ShamedBySiri · 11/01/2023 11:52

And yes I do realise Harry Potter is fiction and Harry Spare is non-fiction.

Not sure this is true

Coxspurplepippin · 11/01/2023 20:23

'Your question should be 'why is everyone believing what is written about H&M, but not about everyone else'.'

OK, I'll believe everything the DM has written about everyone. Harry and Meghan don't come out of that little experiment very well.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 11/01/2023 20:30

I’ve bought 2 . I think people underestimate their fan base

Jesus, yes I think (alarmingly) we do!

Canthave2manycats · 11/01/2023 20:44

RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella · 11/01/2023 00:56

@Canthave2manycats

I can't imagine why anyone wants to buy it, because it's splashed all over the media
I bought it as I want to hear his life story, not told by others or from extracts "splashed all over the media", of with professional rent a gobs on telly telling you what they think /biased tabloids putting their own twist and spin on it
I like to read for myself and form my own opinion.

Normally, so do I, much of it down to my educational background, critical thinking skills, and strong (sometimes too strong for my own good!) sense of injustice. In this case, however, I've heard enough. I don't want to read H's trashing of his family, no matter how perfect the prose that delivers it (English Lit grad).

Pottyaboutplants · 11/01/2023 22:14

The Queen was such a visionary

Ive no idea if the above is true. However it is very clear that the RF are puppets and the puppet master is the institution made up of aides/secretaries etc. There appears to be a fine line between what the RF actually say verbatim and what the institution releases to the media. Therefore, we can’t draw conclusions from the press releases. Imo many of their ‘quotes’ that are unfailingly brought up here are statements written by their team for them.

makingarunforit · 11/01/2023 22:31

I'm just laughing at the references to Frogmore Cottage as if it's a pokey little crofters cottage.

It's in the middle of the Crown Estate in Windsor. They spent £2.4 million doing it up. Does anybody have any idea of property prices in Windsor?!!!

makingarunforit · 11/01/2023 22:31

I wonder if the pair of them were expecting to get Windsor Castle?!

They’re referring to Nottingham Cottage (‘Nott Cott’) where Harry and Meghan lived before they moved into Frogmore Cottage.

It’s a lovely little starter home with great provenance.

It's 1,200 sq feet
My house is only 880. Oprah should see my house!
