His publisher has confirmed he's sold 400,000 copies across all formats in ONE DAY. That's probably a record breaking amount for a memoir.

Agree, I don’t think he’s embraced anything. He comes across as very bitter and angry. He looks sad and miserable. I hope he can find peace because he comes across as a troubled man who despite all the therapy he’s had, has not accepted what’s happened to him, forgiven or shown any compassion to those who have hurt him. Until he does this, he won’t find the happiness he so desperately craves.

I think on some level he knows he's made a huge mistake. But he cannot admit that, even to himself. And we know he's totally lacking in self awareness or the ability to see any fault in himself, so he's just desperately trying to convince himself, and us, that he's done the right thing. But it's not working.

Their books are always cheaper. They cut deals with publishers so they can sell them for less and publishers agree because getting into supermarkets translates to big sales for authors.

At £14 a copy that’s £5.6mill? The advance was £20mill. Some way to go.

It's already on Audible, available for 1 credit (not that I'll be wasting 1 credit on it myself). I'll be a lot less than £14 a copy on that format.

Does he want to build bridges though? I think he's paying lip service to the idea of a reconciliation because he knows it's what's expected of him and people would be shocked if he said 'sod it, I'm grey rocking the lot of them and going NC forever'. I think he knows there's no way back and has embraced it.

Haha! It’s interesting though - even with the book sales they’ll do whatever they need to do to make headlines. It’s as dirty a game as any that H&M accuse BP of.

fwiw I think they’ve gone on total overkill, I was interested but I’m utterly sick of it now and it will take me a LONG time to want to listen to anything they have to say again.

I think trying to persuade people they have a narrative other than victimhood will now be very difficult.

I wonder what’s next?

I think, on reflection, this sums it up. He keeps poking and poking and STILL they won't rise to the bait. I bet they're not even sending or responding to texts after he made a big show of the one Willy sent him on the Netflix doc. It must be driving him insane that they are maintaining the don't complain, don't explain line and have probably hardened it even more since the book leaks began.

I've seen so many "a source close to the royal family says..." posts this week. We now know those sources are W, C and C themselves

It was Kate's birthday yesterday and we've not heard a peep from her. Very unusual and telling

Personally, I don't think money is worth selling out your family, love, integrity and security for. But then I'm really not materialistic or narcissistic. Different values. I don't much care for people like H&M. Hope the money makes them happy.

  1. Protecting and supporting his family, and standing up for what's right (ie integrity).

I don't know but I'm trying to see it from his point of view (I personally think he needs to suck it up, focus on the positives and move on).

The 400k copies was UK only, this book has been released globally.

It is the fastest-selling non-fiction work in UK publishing history.

It is possibly going to outsell Obama's book in the US.

The tone of the real book is very different from the tabloid spin people have fallen for.

I intend to read it, I do not want to simply swallow tabloid regurgitation.

This book is a moment in history, certainly.
