I’m of the opinion he may have written the book in a darker place and may have been in a position not to be able to withdraw as there is a lot of smoothing over of what has been said.

Having said that, I think we would all be hard-pressed not to feel paranoid if journalists were constantly following us, going through our bins, talking to members of our staff, offering money to our friends for photographs.
