reading this evening about fight after Philips funeral where William invoked the phrase ‘ swear on mummy’s life’ is nothing sacred to Harry , why does he need to tell all these things .

How can he seriously write "Maybe we were a death cult" and then claim that he wasn't the delusional one?

I know Harry and Meghan are friendly with Beatrice and Eugenie. I have not seen anything about them being friendly with Andrew.

I doubt that will last after the way he treated their grandparents.

SequinsandStilettos · 08/01/2023 02:00
  1. Royal Death Cult would be a great name for a band
  2. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that the triangle of Christian Jones Dan Wooton and Callum Jones aren't out to get you
  3. Catherine's birthday tomorrow = WineCake and Harry interview
  4. The hokey cokey option (in, out) would have meant he didn't have to do this: but he has to make the $ now and looking at how others fared (Fergie's Budgie the helicopter, Sophie's PR company) not sure what else he had going
  5. Whenever I hear Harold I think of Steptoe and son
PicturesOfDogs · 08/01/2023 02:01

I think he’s trying to fit in with this new LA life, but it’s at odds with who he really is.

I might be off the mark here, but when Meghan was reading Beyoncé’s text about ‘breaking generational curses’ he initially looked bemused.
I felt like he wanted to laugh or say ‘WTF does that even mean’ or something like that. But then he composed himself and said ‘that’s well said’

I don’t think he quite believes it all, but trys to convince himself that he does.

Jordosky · 08/01/2023 02:01

The death cult and tower of blood bit, were 90s/00’s emo bands featuring on his playlist at the time?

Initially I thought M and H seemed quite similar but yes that made me realise they're actually very different people

Paranoia is a well known side effect of smoking weed.

just saying.

Jordosky · 08/01/2023 02:04

Yeah it does seem like he’s tried to mirror her and be what she wants prob because of abandonment fears. But LA celeb life and cali woo hippie life are quite far removed from his upbringing

Jordosky · 08/01/2023 02:06

He isn’t still on it is he? Thought she’d gotten him to clean up his act?

TattieBogle12 · 08/01/2023 02:07

Well I don’t know I don’t know him 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m also not sure whether it’s something you recover from if you’ve smoked it for years.

Jordosky · 08/01/2023 02:10

Ah thought maybe he’d fessed up in another extract 🤷‍♀️

Why do you need to obsess about people you don’t know who have zero impact on your life and post about it oh Mumsnet? Horses for courses I guess.

LearnerCook · 08/01/2023 02:31

Everything Harry says is just turning people against him even more.

For a man who demands censorship privacy, it's hugely hypocritical.

JudgeRudy · 08/01/2023 02:45

And would be way down the list of "mustvyou really share that?"

You're doing exactly the same about @Gjggjj .

If you really don't give two hoots about Harry or Meghan, why are you on this thread? Is it, perhaps, because actually you do give two hoots, and you don't like people laughing at them?

Why do you need to come on a thread and post a comment accusing other people who’ve also posted as ‘obsessed’😂

I’m certainly not ‘obsessed’, was always very meh about the RF before all this drama but it’s something to read, you can’t avoid it and obviously this person (Harry) who I don’t know and has zero impact on my life, wants us all to hear his truth and read about it! So it’d be rude not to. Anyone would think he’s a private person who keeps things private!

My take is that Harry told Meg all about his terrible life and being the humanitarian she is, she decided to encourage him to go get em and stand up for himself. Bring them down H, you and I would be a better King and Queen! Two narcissists colliding = utter nightmare for everyone else around them.

They really misjudged it though but will still make squillions so they can live like a King and Queen for the next few years at least. Not sure they’ve thought it through properly after that but I doubt Meg will need him.

DogBowlsAreMyWeapon · 08/01/2023 03:16

Imagine putting in writing that your family had what sounds similar to an “intervention” and you’ve responded with “nooooo! It’s YOU who are deluded”.

Adrian Mole had greater teenage insights with Barry Kent.

Beexo · 08/01/2023 04:37

Has anyone asked William if he's ok ? He must be heartbroken being stabbed in the back like that unable to defend himself. This book has just made me feel sorry for William imagine being betrayed like that by someone you deeply loved for ££££. It's unforgivable

I hate conspiracy theories and don't normally buy into them at all. Usually things are just a coincidence and nothing more.

But Catherine had her birthday in 2020 overshadowed by H&M's announcement overnight, and this year it's the interviews on her actual birthday, and of course the release of the book. There are a shedload of other examples of dubious timings - such as releasing the photo of Archie as William/Catherine were about to land in the US for the Earthshot ceremony. The timing of the Netflix trailer as they arrived for their US tour. The release of Meghan's book that was written in 2019 but was suddenly announced just a few days before Catherine's COVID photography book was released. And so on. Lots more examples too.

It's all beginning to look a bit deliberate and spiteful. I'm sure Harry could have persuaded the publisher to choose a different release date, or different days for the interviews. He's more than capable of saying "no, that's my sister-in-law's 40th birthday and it would be hurtful/inappropriate to do this on her big day". I can't see publishers or broadcasters disagreeing if those were the terms that Harry set. It feels like yet another dig at Catherine, and by association, William. We've seen from his book that Harry seems consumed with vengefulness re them so it now seems less of a coincidence and more like a deliberate attempt to spoil Catherine's 40th birthday.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/01/2023 07:31

It comes off as fairly neutral

Neutral? It doesn’t to me. I’ve found this the most difficult revelation to read. And triggering. As someone, who lost a parent as a child and was by far the more sensible of the siblings, I don’t think Harry has a bloody clue on the kindness and love his brother will have shown him over the years. William covered so much up. As did I, despite being the younger sibling. And I was gaslit by my family, not listened to, even screaming I was telling the truth, still to be ridiculed. We were brought up to be competitive and I largely stepped away from it a long time ago. My sibling, much like Harry cannot. So god no, absolutely not neutral. Fuck no.

MistletoeandBaileys · 08/01/2023 07:48

This is actually one of the saddest things that’s come out of it. William sounded like he was desperate to get through to his brother and at the end of his tether.

This is a PR disaster for Harry. And what’s worse is he doesn’t even realise it. He’s isolating himself on an island away from everything and everyone who loves him.

It sounds like William and Charles have tried repeatedly to reach out to him privately to no avail. I feel so sorry for them. It is like watching a car crash and they can’t do anything to stop it.

I hope they and Kate and Camilla are getting the support they need right now. And I don’t think I would blame William if he never spoke to Harry again.

ZooMount · 08/01/2023 07:58

I agree this is the saddest part I've read. The phrase is clearly meaningful to them both, and a desperate attempt by William to break through to his brother he feels he's lost. It just shows how deluded Harry has become, it's so sad. He's obviously surrounding himself with people who are feeding into his narrative that he's lost any sense of reality. How can he bang on about privacy and then do a book like this, revealing private moments about other people. How can they ever trust him to speak to him again, knowing that everything they say will be in tomorrow's news. Just awful. It also shows how fragile the notion of the Royal Family is really, the Queen played her part well and we were spoilt with her, but I'm reality these are just flawed humans like everyone else trying to play a role. William is in the more impossible situation, Harry is lucky to be the 'spare'. He could have moved away and had a happy life without all of this.

MissMarpleRocks · 08/01/2023 08:23

God that was hard to read. Poor William & Charles. Clearly desperate to reach out to a too far gone Harry. What a betrayal.

Bradford - neutral? Think you must have read something different to everyone else as it’s so clearly not neutral.

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 08/01/2023 08:34

Why are people feeling sorry for charles, after what he did to their mother. As for camilla don't get me started on her. Should get rid of the whole lot of them as the monarchy now only like the kardashians since the Queen has passed and no one will ever replace her and so much scandal in the rf that people are seeing them for what they are. People just like the rest of us but living a lifestyle of massive wealth and privilege. Andrew must be delighted as all this is taking the focus off of him and his gross behaviour and lies.

It comes across as neutral to me. Just because a relative wants you to be friendly again, does not mean you have to.

So, this is neutral but allegedly changing where someone sits at a wedding breakfast is vile and rude. Okay.
