reading this evening about fight after Philips funeral where William invoked the phrase ‘ swear on mummy’s life’ is nothing sacred to Harry , why does he need to tell all these things .

What a drama llama. 😆

Our lives were built on death, our brightest days shadowed by it. Looking back, I didn't see spots of time, but dances with death.”

He described Windsor Castle as a “tomb, the walls filled with ancestors” and Tower of London “held together with the blood of animals” adding, “maybe we were a death cult”.

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 08/01/2023 00:23

Tower of London “held together with the blood of animals”…. Like the blood of the polo ponies he kicks, or the animals he hunts?

It's a common parlance but if you read the article it clearly shows that it's something that was special to them and so it was a big deal when William said it to Harry.

It's always special to whoever is using it. Being royal doesn't make it more special or a secret.

Jordosky · 08/01/2023 00:26

Noticed how he suddenly has an aversion to blood sports. But he didn’t seem to mind joining in with hunting parties previously. Someone once said he shape shifts to match whoever he is dating. Starting to think they were onto something.

It's special to them if they considered it special to them. If they called it a secret code then we have to accept that that's what they considered it. 🤷‍♀️

The more I hear, the more I think she’s nothing to do with it. This has obviously been festering for years.

I agree! I have said this for a long while. He wanted out. She just gave him a catalyst.

Yes, if anything she’s unwittingly got dragged into it given the combination of their family issues. It’s all this stuff about how they’re a great love story, she’s like his mother, it’s a dramatic them against the world scenario. Maybe the increasing drama keeps that bond. Imagine being on that pedestal though, it wouldn’t be a safe feeling.

Spck · 08/01/2023 00:39

Wasn’t this during Covid restrictions - I remember the Queen having to sit on her own at the funeral.

fair point.

I feel sorry for William. This is an intensely private conversation that should never have been made public.

William sounds like he was desperately reaching out to help his brother and heal the rift.

William had just had to deal with the onslaught in the Oprah interview and the death and burial of his grandfather, but was still telling Harry he loved him.

William doesn’t appear to be the villain of this piece.

NestingSparrow · 08/01/2023 00:43

I thought Harry wanted privacy for him and his family.
How can he now write a book telling the whole world such private details, including the ones about loosing his virginity?
How can he want to reconcile with his family after he has done this to them?
My views on William and Charles have improved since I have heard the extracts and my views on H&M have really gone down. I think they are money grabbing and don’t care about anything but themselves.

I agree with this. Surely if Harry wanted to reconcile then this was his opportunity, with his brother telling him he loves him.

Instead Harry prioritised the fast buck he’s making from his Netflix series and train-crash book.

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 00:58

He does not want to reconcile.

He does not want to reconcile.

Really? He did last week.

presume, a bigger strategy

He does not want to reconcile.

You’re right, he doesn’t want to reconcile.

What he wants is an unequivocal apology, with William saying ‘You’re right and I’m wrong’ about everything

He blames William for things that are clearly out of Williams control. This is shown in his own retelling of conversation where he’s clearly blaming William for something, and William tells him ‘to take it up with Granny’

This ties back to him commenting previously saying he wanted to make sure the queen was ‘surrounded by the right people’ (the irony!)
He cannot accept the decisions made were the queens and the queens alone, so has deluded himself into thinking William is the evil Iago, whispering in the queens ear.

If you put all this together it’s not even funny. He sounds like someone with paranoid delusional issue. Every one is out to get him, contacting spirits, bitterness and revenge and a toxic bonded marriage.

We had someone like this in our family. It didn’t end well. I am quite sad and triggered reading all of this.

Nana4 · 08/01/2023 01:14

In my humble opinion:
she wanted out - didn’t like her place in the pecking order
he wanted in - couldn’t persuade her to stay
they suggested half and half
HM Queen said no
they stomped off - expected to be begged to stay - everybody loves us
HM put into motion the practicalities of leaving and waved them off
they chucked the toys out of the pram - just watch how bad we can be
they got ignored
more toys on the floor
ad infinitum ………

poor form for a 5 year old never mind two grown adults

BradfordGirl · 08/01/2023 01:17

I think it is Harry that wanted out and has driven this, not Meghan.

Canabelievethis · 08/01/2023 01:17

LizzieSiddal · 07/01/2023 23:32

Harrys mind is tweaked, constantly thinking everyone is against him.
Agree he sounds extremely paranoid and unwell.

Sounds very bitter to the degree of paranoia. Maybe unwell mentally but more like over-spill of sibling resentment/ jealousy whilst questioning his future purpose and role in life resulting in acting out attentionseeking behaviour, egged on by a neurotic wife.

Meltinthemiddle · 08/01/2023 01:30

Harry Definitely doesn't seem well. It is really worrying and I guess his family are worried too. Alot of this therapy stuff seems to have opened up the flood gates to alot of childhood trauma, but instead of dealing with quietly and behind doors and trying to find peace he is just making the situation worse by causing a bigger rift within the family which then only justifies how he feels. I also worry he is so besotted with Megan that he is trying to be someone he isn't.He seems incredibly vulnerable and will bo doubt do anything to maintain his marriage and family.

gulliblestravels · 08/01/2023 01:37

I wonder how much he'd hate the trappings of being part of the royal family if charles died, william & the kids walked away & he inherited it? I'd bet it would all be jolly fine then.

Jordosky · 08/01/2023 01:46

I think they both wanted in/out, so the hand outs tax payer money, but freedom to earn extra cash on top and live abroad

SnowlayRoundabout · 08/01/2023 01:55

BradfordGirl · 07/01/2023 23:49

It comes across as neutral to me. Just because a relative wants you to be friendly again, does not mean you have to.

And it doesn't mean you have to publish a detailed emotive account including family secrets, and trying to blame the other relative, does it?

steff13 · 07/01/2023 23:29

Well that article just makes me feel sorry for William.

Same.
